Hi there, By doing my "Two-tone" projet on my white Versa, I want to change some parts to black. One of those are the door handles. I wanted to paint them, but since it's a moving (kinda) part, I was afraid the paint would chip or something. Therefore, I'm looking for a genuine Nissan Versa black door handle. I've checked the web for some auto parts, but can't find that one in particular. I'll check with the dealer, but it'll end up costing ridiculusly high. So, does anyone in here knows a place or a guy. I can pay through PayPal and I'm not in a hurry.

Thanks

That would be the kind of thing you want to buy off a wrecked Versa, and there's just not a lot of those around.

You also need to make sure the handles come off the right kind of car... I.E. with or without Convenience package, as appropriate.

Unless I'm wrong, The door handles are exactly the same for all the Versas, Hatchback or Sedan, S or SL, Convinience or Sport, ...

In Canada, they are all the same.

In the US, they are not, so you have to be careful if you're buying from down here.

Anything with the Convenience package has the iKey, which has a button on the door handle for the iKey system. Cars without the iKey, and all Canadian cars, do not have this.

Ok guys, stay focus, I need black handles. Doesn't anybody know a guy who knows a guy ?

And by the way, isn't it weird that Nissan USA and Nissan Canada don't offer the same products ? It's all "made in Mexico" anyway !

The kid is smart. A shop will be able to paint them the correct color and minimize the chance of chipping.

Besides, if you get door handles from the dealer, you do realize they come unpainted, right?

I have a white versa and I had the same idea for black door handles, and maybe a black spoiler to go with it. There's some pics of my versa with some chrome and black rims in a thread I posted recently. My plan was to go with black white and chrome, so that's why I got the chrome and black wheels.

I haven't painted my door handles, not because I'm afraid of chipping them though, but because I wanted to keep my mods reversible in case I decide it looks bad. And I didn't want three coats of paint on them in that case.

I don't know where you could get black handles though. And it comes as a surprise to me that parts come in to the dealer unpainted.

Well, so much for my dealer's idea. But, I was thinking, since Nite-Shade can be removed with alcohol, could it be used to paint the handles ? I guess I would need to apply a couple of coats...

I wouldn't do it with niteshades because the product by itself (with out a clear coat and wetsanding) isn't a smooth glossy finish its more of a matte. I would spend the extra $$$ (ant it probably wont be too much) and get it done professionally.
