I would have put this in the simple questions thread, but I'm not sure it would get enough traffic, when someone who knows might see it here.
I've got some time to play with about any metal work stuff I could want, in the next few weeks. I'm looking for a pattern with all the exact dimensions for one.
I did google, but came up with nothing. If I can't find the patterns, I was going to look at the geometry section in the fsm, and see if I could find the measurements. If I end up doing thi: should it be okay to make a single piece one? I've seen them, but most have those two hinge joints. I was going to stick weld a pretty beefy single piece one, is there any problem this could cause? Funny stresses or anything? I can see it putting more of a wrenching/rolling force on the strut towers, but I'm not sure if it would be enough to cause any sort of problem.
If I try to figure it out myself, should it fit laden, or unladen? (which would, of course, make the new laden geometry the old unladen geometry, and probably put a lot more force on the bolts (which are pretty low torque, like 17ftlb or something, I think) and the car in general).
I'd be interested in a front one too if anyone's got those plans, just figured there's less fitment/clearance issues on the rear, to start out.
