isnt the S2k significantly lighter.... as it doesnt require that big a** motor assembly.

I swapped a non retracting one from my early '91. I love it. Gives it an RC car look. However, it angles toward the hatch and you have to be careful when closing it or it will get stuck. I just need to bend the damn thing...

Funny looking option.

What about Junkyards? Dunno how hard would be to find an S13 antenna over there. It would be hell around here.

Off topic tho, how did you guys manage to decrease the car weight over 300lbs?? Just wondering how much gutting was done.

well, Phil is lying about the weight of his car, where as my track car doesnt comply to US crash safety standards.

Phil !

So front and rear bumper reinforcements removed. Haven't really checked if there are any strength bars on the doors.

Can it be possible to take an S13 down to 2000lbs? Coupe I guess since the hatch is probably heavier than me.

It still has front and rear bumper supports, they are just super skimpy, the doors are reinforced less, its missing half a frame rail on one side. You could deff get a coupe down down in the realm of 2000lbs with a sawzall and cutoff disks on a grinder. Removing all wiring, sound deadening, rear speaker supports etc etc, bumper supports, heater core, blower motor, AC, flip up light motors, the list goes on and on. I think my friends gutted and cutup s13 coupe weighed 2200lbs?

i do not have front support, under my dash is completely gutted, all AC stuff is gone, all the Jute under the carpeting is gone as well as all sound deadening materials in drivers compartment. plus the obvious, CA is lighter, wheels are slightly lighter, coilovers slightly lighter etc. little stuff adds up,

oh and as for antennas at local junk yards... non existent. they see a 240, they crush it for some reason... there are never any Nissans at the local scrap yards.
