I had been having alot of trouble with idle, and i narrowed the problem down to the air regulator. I removed it, connected both hoses with a piece of pipe, then drilled a hole in the pipe to atmosphere and the car idles perfect now. (took alot of time, and was a fluke figuring out this solution)it works fine, but noone likes a vaccume leak, so im looking for a working air regulator.Anyone have one?

I think you can do some slight wiring modifications and make one from an SR20 Sentra work. I've got one sitting in my garage that I'm going to make work, but I haven't actually done it yet and since I picked it up from my girlfriends dad's shop, I don't know for sure what car it came off of.

HI Mikey,

I haven't forgotten about the air regulator but I haven't ran accross one from a ca18det yet, I got few ca16de ones and the one I made for you, I also made few for other members and they worked fine, but I believe you were saying something regarding some pipe is close to it(cold pipe).

I will continue to look for one and Hopefully I will luck out with one.

Rafi,With the combonation of the cold pipe and radiator hose, its very hard to make it fit properly.

I'm tellin ya, I've got one in my garage that is a straight through, just like the CA. The plug is different and you'll have to cut the plug off of the SR20 Sentra that you took it from, but otherwise it should work. I'll write more up about it later when I install the motor.

Here is a pic of what I'm talking about. I don't know what car it came off of but you can ask biosehnsucht, as these are pics of his motor.

dude, the one on my car doesn't look like that at all. Maybe Nissan changed it at some point? I know that the one that you have on your car is just like one that I got from a Sentra, and it doesn't look like the one that was on my car originally.

22660-93L00 is the air regulator used on automatic CA18DET S13's from 91 onwards (in europe) and on automatic SR sentras from 91 onwards as well.

there's some other #'s for manuals and earlier automatics, but not locally available. actually the early automatics are same as manual, so likely they just 'upgraded' to a higher idling valve.

that SR part should be fine regardless, might also look at 22660-53J00 which is the SR sentras's manual part#, not the same as CA but should physically fit and likely idle lower since its MT also.

The only problem I have with mine is that it won't plug in. I'm going to have to screw with it to make it work. The plug is close, but not quite the same.

The problem with doing that is that your idle should be real high.
