I'm looking for a good deal on a tow hitch for my 2001 pathfinder. I'm not trying tow anything , I'll going to be using it for a bike rack. Im actually looking for the bike rack to. I have ski racks on my pathfinder right now and am willing to sale or trade them for a bike rack or hitch. They are Thule and they come with the locks and key. Also I have a Hollywood bike rack for sale :thewave:

If you have any local junkyards check there first, I got a hitch off a Pathfinder for my QX4 for $30 and then cleaned it up and painted it.

That's a great deal ? So far the cheapest I cam across was $75 , If they had one but they never called back so I guess they didn't have it.

i actually just did the same thing, although i went to a local hitch shop because i wanted the wiring done for a brakelight/turnsignal.

anyway, you want to make sure to get a class 3 hitch which should be good for 500 tougne weight and towing 5,000. the main thing about the class 3 is that it's a 2" hitch, which makes it compatible with all the quality bike carriers.

anyway, regarding the rack, i picked up a thule t2 916xtr. there are a lot of different ones to choose from. i checked out the linup from an off brand, yamikia, and thule, and for a platform rack, the t2 is the one to go with. on and off in a breeze, it adjusts to allow gate access, and nothing touches the bike frame.

Keep your eye on craigslist. I found a brand new never installed hitch and wiring for $50 bucks last year.
