I know there have been a lot of post lately about what turbos go best with the RB25 etc. And I have read most of them. What I'm looking for is what t3/t4 turbo will be a cheap upgrade to the stock RB25 turbo. looking for 350 hp or more. I've had a lot of suggestions from a 16g to the ebay turblows, and the fact is I don't know my turbo specs. Sooo what turbos should I be looking for? I've got a "big bad turbo" laying around waiting for the right time but until then... I'm tired of limiting myself to 10psi. Any info or links will help thanks guys!

When I was looking for a turbo to replace my blown stock RB25 turbo, found a used 50trim t3/t4 Turbonetics turbo and it was my understanding i could only go up to 9psi or so because at that point I would be maxing out the injectors. Like I said that was just information that I was told. I am running about 8psi right now, not sure what kinda power its making. I am waiting to get a new wideband sensor before I do anymore tuning with it.

Check out the T3/T04E 60 trim, plot the compressor map against your desired boost. They can be had relatively cheap on ebay, esp for non-BB chra. If you want some help with this send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you an excel file to help with your comp map plots.

Gomer usually stock injectors are sized to max out around the stock peak hp. A quick estimate for the safe injector max power is (CCperMin * .9). So, RB20 270cc = ~243hp, RB25 370cc = ~333hp, RB26 444cc = ~399hp. Of course YMMV, it's just a rough estimate, the actual # depends entirely on your upgrades & tuning. U probably know this but it might help someone else to see this info!

well guys I greatly appreciate the info and hope you have more input. I have a buddy selling a newly rebuilt t3/t4 with turbonetics internals 0 miles on it. .60 trim with a .57 A/R . What do you think it will support and how well will it perform on the rb25?

I'm a dumby when it comes to turbo sizes and maps but I totally understand what upgrades I'll need to make to compensate for the increase in boost.

yea don't know if I could ever trust an ebay turbo.

A little more info on that t3/t4 : the turbine side of this one it is .63 AR and the compressor side is a 57 trim with a .50 AR for faster spool and rated safely to 25 psi

whatcha think too small?

I have a freshly rebuilt t3/t04e 56 trim .82 a/r that came with my rb that I'm not using, might be something you can use. It is an external w/g turbo. I had it professionally rebuilt. Looking to off load it cheap...

Sorry for the thread revival.

I'm looking to get a similar turbo (only difference with a 57 trim) and would like to know how it's running for you 300plus? spool time, hp numbers, etc...

Thanks
