There's a mod(rockchucker) from 300zxclub that lives in Seattle, WA. He owns a couple Zs and he knows the Z.

I almost missed this thread, but maybe SOME help...

I personally have found LITTLE help in the past with reputable Z32 repair around the Puget Sound area, but recently have heard some input about one outfit and am about to see what another can do for me with some injector problems.

There is an outfit called Z Specialties in Snohomish Washington (route 9 to Sno), but during a recent unrelated visit by me to Felton's in Snohomish (used Z parts) I asked the local reputation of Z Specialties and was told they are expensive but pretty good, especially with the older (Z31 and older) Z's. Felton's didn't seem to like them though, and I'm not sure whether it's personal/local, or other.

Felton's recommended Fairlady Z in University Place/Tacoma, who I'd never heard of before which surprised me since I was raised in Tacoma. I have talked to the owner/operator three times now and he seems a VERY knowledgeable guy and knows Z32's well, apparently is even into specialty speed stuff (Hmmmm, ITB's???) and best of all isn't talking huge dinero for repairs...we'll see, and I'll report more if Fairlady Z is really a worthwhile outfit.

That's the best I've come up with in about a year of dedicated searching for reputable Z people in Western Washington...beyond a LARGE list of who not to use.Anyone else?

I have heard of fairlady z in tacoma but never of anyone actually getting anything done by them. Personally I would get ahold of Roman from bbt performance he is a bit of a drive Vancouver WA. but if your not comfertable with doing what needs to be done yourself he is probably the only person I would have work on the car. His email if your interested is [email protected]

I forgot about Roman, have seen his posts on NWZA org.It seems he does TT swaps regularly, and indeed seems like a Z pro...nice catch Z-owned, forgot about him!

OK, just got my car back from Fairlady Z motors, and they do know their stuff. They seem involved in some interesting swap operations with a lot of different vehicles, and have a dyno in the shop and even have dyno days as I saw on a local post.Doug the owner is a REALLY friendly guy and enthusiastic about what he does, and at least with the work I had done was VERY reasonable and they got it done in two days including the parts arriving...VERY quick.Best of all he was ALWAYS easy to contact even during his off-the-phone days, a BIG plus to me.They do some importing of specialty stuff from Japan as well and even seemed interested in my ITB idea, so I will be talking to him about that in the future I'm sure.

The only possible negatives are the shop is VERY hard to find, and also maybe not what some people might consider a reputable-looking operation. It's a little old-school which is fine by me because that's where I came from as well, but might put others off looking for lots of flashy Z's, shiny surfaces and a cool expensive shop...

Overall a big thumbs up and I will be dealing with them again I am sure.
