Just what the topic says, looking for a shop in the metro Atlanta area (preferably south of the city) that can do custom manifold fabrication. As you may know, there are very few intake or exhaust manifold options for the CA-series motor. Thanks

Well, I'll be working north of the city for the next couple months anyways... Think you can name those shops?

I used to work at Downing/Atlanta Inc, and they did custom manifolds every once in awhile for race cars. I'm sure that if you paid them, they'd make you one. It may not be cheap though.

Anyway, they are in Chamblee. Their website is http://www.downingatlanta.com.

To: USDM240Question, does the shop you work at repair engines as well? I don't think I can afford a swap?

Problems That I know of:One of the threads for a spark plug is stripped and the spark is not all the way in or not getting a good connection.I think a fuel injector might be leaking.I may need the head? gasket replaced small amount of oil leaking through gasketand I have a non-working A/C problemI am looking for an honest person to take a look and let me know what kind of costs I'm looking at with labor and parts or I can usually get parts myself. If you want shoot me an email [email protected],Patricia

That is NOT going to be cheap. To pull the head, replace the headgasket, repair the stripped spark plug hole, and reassemble is going to be close to a grand. Then if you add in a timing chain and guides. Then on top of that you want to repair the a/c on a car that should have R12 in it. If these are truly your problems, you could easily end up spending more than the car is worth. Even then you won't have a perfect car. It will still be old and need maintenance and repairs once in a while.

I am willing to fix a car that I love. I got it dirt cheap, one owner, no other major problems, you can always adjust your insurance to cover the extra costs.....and it's paid for. Thanks for the info yellow_jacket.

well, from the sound of things, it could be a very costly job. we can definitely take care of the problems for you, or if youd like, it may be more advantageous to swap to a KA24DE thats in better shape. you will probably comer out cheaper than way. but let me know either way. i can get you price quotes for either situation.

Yeah Jimmy, we don't work on 240's at our place that much, we just like to keep no less than 10 240's at our place on any given day. We really like Hondas though, and yellow wrx's too. We'll see you on Barret man, the drop top will be back next week, plus a couple more rb cars.
