Remember independent shops must buy parts from dealers so the retail cost of parts will be the same regardless.

Typically independents are ~ $20-$25 per hour less expensive because the lack of loaners, washes, details, and fancy amenities.

But their lack of VOLUME on your vehicle means lack of rigorous daily experience by Technicans.Sometimes you get lucky where employees/owners have your vehicle and they are forced to understand the fine points.

well i can only speak on our behalf when i say when it some to us, you are totally wrong. we are a family own and ran company. yeah we are a small shop and no we don't have a loaner, but neither do a lot of nissan\infinti dealers hear in Dallas. and the prices on o.e parts we give are always cheaper. a good amount cheaper.

I myself own a Q45, and i have owned 3 240sx's and 1 300zx before this. if anything we know Nissan's intimately.

but like i said i cant speak for other shops. i just speak for us when i say for the price we give and the work that is done, you cant beat it. and 9\10 time we become good friends with our customers. when was the last time you even saw the guy who worked on your car at the dealer????

but to each his own,

1.) Ouch! How do it know?

2.) Even Nissan dealer techs have been known to mess up on Q45 because they never saw the VH series V8.

I appreciate your advocacy, but..........don't skip any more English classes or homework assigned by your teacher.

Wonder if they are still in business?

VH41DE not that difficult, until one removes the plenum. Then I prefer the VH45DE.

kmk786. what specifically do you need?

Maybe yes, maybe no.

Some tools required are not possessed by everyone. The point is to know more through these forums so one can supervise any procedure if one cannot perform it.
