Right now I have the original 4.08 rear gears in my S13 with a Kaaz 1.5way, and they're just too short with the LS1+T56. I'd like to upgrade to the 3.54s or even 3.69s while still keeping the Kaaz 1.5 way. I don't want to swap to a VLSD. So I guess what I'm looking for is recommendations on what the easiest/cheapest way to go about that would be.

I also don't want to have to swap my custom driveshaft, and I already have Ichiba 5lug swap hubs.

So is there a diff I can pick up that I can just rob the ring and pinion gears from and swap them into my diff?

The problem with the Q45 is that as far as I can tell I would need to buy new rear hubs since the axle splines are different, which I was hoping to avoid. I suppose I could just sell the Ichiba rear hubs.

Now, would I be able to swap my Kaaz 1.5 way into the Q45 diff, getting rid of the VLSD?

Well I don't exactly come around NICO very much, let alone post much when I do.

I did find that I can swap the Q45 ring and pinion into my case. http://www.okifx.com/site.aspx?page=Q45 ... %20Install
I'm not sure if I'll just do that or swap the axles and hubs too since the Q45/Z32 axles are stronger, depends on price. People have been putting down quite a bit of power on the stock axles.

If you go that route id start looking for the driver side 300zx tt axle now. It took me like 4-5 months of checking ebay, craigslist , and twinturbo.net to find one. Also check our classifieds, I have some 300zx tt hubs if your interested.

if you're going to use your carrier then all you needa do is drill out the carrier to accept the 13mm ring gear mounting bolts, swap the input flange and use your output flanges in the q diff. still need to check your lash. if you use the 97-01 diff, you dont need to try and source the abs input flange. using pre-97 diff, you need the abs input flange to clear the housing.

no need to swap axles or hubs
