hey what up fellas... im currently stationed in japan and i've owned several cars while i've been here only 1 1/2 i still have a year and some months to go before coming back to the states... along with the supra i use to own i also had a R32 GTR and loved the way i could always put the power to the ground the reason for me wanting one when i back... ive searched everywhere for one and finally ran into this site... I don't want to buy a shady *** car if im going to be paying 20+ for it and from what i know and from what i can see there is only a hand full of legit skylines out there... i even thought about buy a GTR over here and trying to ship it but then i would run into all the problems that go along with that and a chance of my car not making it... since their are a lot of shady *** importers or people that call themselves that... i want to do it right plus i have a **** load of parts for one enough to be playing with about 800 or so hehehehehe and i know that if that kind of power can be put down on the ****ty drag strip of okinawa anybody that has been here will tell you about it... then it can definitly be put down in the states. : )

Dude, your post makes my eyes hurt.

Grammar and punctuation are keys for decent replys.

Anyway, to get a Skyline in the states is going to be next to impossible. There are a couple people in this forum that say they can do it, 100% legal with no problems. They are not affiliated with NICO, so it's at your own risk.

Your best bet would be to search for an already registered MotorEx car, as that will be your best, (safest) route.

Good luck with your search, and hit up a couple of our other Oki members and talk to them.

sorry about that... I didn't think anything of it... man why is it that people can get FD's in the states no problem but when it comes down to a skyline you basically have to kill somebody to do it. yeah an those motorex ones are even harder to find might as well win the lotto!

fd rx-7's were avail. stateside so there are crash test ratings for them and DOT-approved parts available to swap over.

So America doesn't have any rules regarding importing your own personal car if you are overseas and return home?

In Australia, if you own a car for more than 12 months while overseas, you can bring it back as a "private" import, which means, you don't even have to go through all the hassle of getting it complied by the Transport Authority. All you have to do is apply for a private import plate, and provide proof that the car belonged to you for the minimum 12 requirement while staying overseas.

If you sell it in the future however, then you(or the new owner) have to get it properly complianced by the RTA.

If you guys had similar rules to these, you would be able to bring your very own skyline to the US!

I don't have the exact number, but it's right about 50 of them.

As far as I know, I got the last one that was on the market, in December.

There's a real nice Motorex R33 for sale here in St. Louis, but that's the only Motorex GT-R that I've seen for sale since I got mine in December.
