hello ol' reliable ones...

I need your help. I've been looking for the rubber mounting piece that goes at the very bottom of the manual shifter. It's on the underside of the car, but above the exhaust and heat shield. Honestly, I don't even know what to call the thing. Mine dry-rotted and broke in half so now the stick moves pretty freely up and down, not something I want happening. this is for a 1995 200sx se-r with 5 spd.

I can't get to it at any of the salvage yards because they always take the wheels off the cars and sit them on the brakes giving the body only a few inches of clearance above the ground. gay.

So is there anybody with any advise for me? specific stores, websites, part name or number, anything...

it sounds like your shift linkage bushing (the rubber piece that supports the link from the shifter to the linkage) tell me if thats not it. But if it is you can get a heavy duty one from ebay.

Alright, so the package came in today... and it wasn't right!

The part number and everything matched but it wasn't what I expected. part #7.1109R was what I got and what I ordered - but it didn't come with all that was pictured. All it came with was the 2 bushings, nothing else. Why do they picture all that stuff if it doesn't come with it? geez. this is getting annoying

check out the links and see if you think I got what I should have gotten.

No disrespect here, but how does that make sense? Do you see the broken part in my picture that I posted? I don't see how those 2 bushings can fix that.

The piece you ordered is for the section where the bolt is going through. I now see the piece that is broken and I would have to go look at my car because I can't even recall what goes there and I have taken my car apart many times. Looks like it a whole piece within itself with the bolts that holding it up.

yeah I figured since I have these bushings, I'll use them - no reason not to. But I've had no luck finding that other part. I'm glad we got this confusion worked out, I appreciate your help.

You actually need the stabilizer bracket and bushing. Energy suspension doesn't sell them. Just the bushing for the shifter. Seems alot of folks either make their own bracket using sway bar bushing and bracket. If you want something oem, you would have to contact nissan and tell them exactly what it is and give them your vin number. They should have it or can get it a couple days.

actually call this guy.. http://www.gspec.com/

Greg Vogel and tell him what you need, he will definitely be able to help.

Alright, here's a little update. Greg at Gspec was very helpful. He recommended a part that's actually made for the suspension but it's a perfect fit. I can shift again. yay. So yeah I'll be doing business with gspec in the future. Thanks for the recommendation.
