Guys,

As a past owner of a 1997 Q and a recent (sold it yesterday) owner of an I35, I'm hot into the market for a new Q. I'm considering a 2002 to a 2004 because they appear to be in my price range.

I'm only interested in the loaded up versions (just love gadgets.) So it looks like I'm wanting the Premium and Sport Packages. Just love the idea of Nav, rear camera, cooled seats, rear recliners, voice control, etc.

Can anyone give me any advice on pro's and cons of the 2002 vs. 2003 or 2004 models? I read someplace that the 2003's were given different gearing for quicker off the line performance. True and relevant?

What else should I be aware of or/look out for?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

2003 and, and to a lesser extent, 2004 have significant upgraes under the skin.

Sport model only in 2002 and (arguably) 2006.

Get a Premium. Obtain the Infiniti dealer supplied service history first before even looking at the car. Verify 3,750 OCI or pass.

Oil consumption -may- be an issue. 1qt/1,000mi is considered grounds for engine or block replacement.

I think 05+ uses higher quality leather and plastic.

I think it would be completely worthwhile to find somethign that still has the factory bumper to bumpter warranty in place. The price of replacement for some of the goodies you speaking about is high, so making sure that if anything goes wrong that Infiniti is on the hook would be crucial.

Given the complete lack of interest in these cars all around you should be able to make a steal on a 03-05 with warranty left...I would also make sure you get extended coverage too.
