I'm only a novice mechanic, but was tired of taking my car to local mechanics who don't know these cars and just start throwing parts at it - including the local Nissan dealer. I've spent money replacing parts that didn't fix a given problem and been told I needed expensive repairs that were untrue and unnecessary. I've had better success finding solutions on this forum and doing my own repairs. But I had an idle problem I just couldn't find and went out searching for a 240 specialist.

If you need a shop in the Portland, Oregon area, I'd recommend SV Performance on Sandy Blvd. Oscar said "just stop by" (i.e. no appt necessary) & found and fixed my elusive vacuum leak in no time. He removed my timing chain guide (I've been putting that off, which I knew to be at my peril, given a previous engine where I lost one at 60mph) & replaced the vale cover gasket at more than reasonable cost. These guys work on 240's daily and seem to know their stuff. I hope I don't need any more work for awhile, but if I run into something I can't do myself, I'll definitely make the trip back to them. Thanks Oscar!!
