Just been hit with hiccups and stalling. Checked the fuel system, all is OK. Reading online says it might be the MAF. I am going to get it checked out on Monday, but maybe someone out there has a parts car with an extra MAF that I could swap out. Thanks.

Thanks, will do when I find one. Runs great, then bucks and stalls at stops. Then runs great until the next time. Replaced the fuel pump and control module just to be safe, cleaned the MAF terminals, but still there....shucks.

Nismo Silva - what kind of condition is your MAF in? How many miles?

Newt- I've been reading your posts in other threads and feel your pain. I hope the replacement MAF solves the problem. While you wait for that slow boat to arrive from the mainland.....

It sounds like you've cleaned and tightened the pins on the MAF connector and cleaned and coated the MAF pins. Have you done the same to the CAS connector and #1 and #2 fuel injector pins? TPS Sensor connector? It's pretty moist in Hawaii, did/do any of these have green corrosion? If there is you should be looking at other connections and grounds. Did you go new or used on the FPCU and fuel pump? If used FPCU have you tried grounding out the fuel pump to see if the problem goes away? Let us know.

Thanks for all your help guys. We have cleaned all the connections and they look fine. The car is garaged and driven daily by my daughter. And I keep thinking it is an obscure grounding problem. With a brand new fuel pump, filter, used FPCM, the symptions are still an occaisional bucking, and then a stall upon coming to a stop. Not when cold (if you count a 68 degree morning as cold), but after the car has been driven for a few miles.

Hopefully the MAF will arrive soon and THAT will solve it. I really appreciate all the members input here. It has saved me a ton of time. Aloha, MPI

Well, I am keeping my fingers crossed, but the new used MAF seems to have done the trick. Its running like a charm, idles smoothly and accelerates smoothly. The connections also looked fine. No burn spots or corrosion, so for now, it seems to have done the trick. I have not opened up the old MAF to fiddle with it yet, I just want to make sure that the MAF was it. Maybe next month. Thanks to all who helped me with this.

Through all this pain at least I learned how to change the fuel pump and FPCM through that helpful thread posted at the top of the forum. I learned about the Idle air control valve and learned how to change out the O2 sensor (pain in the arse). Hope to get another 115k miles on the car now.
