Anyone know of a good quality exhaust system that doesn't make the typical annoying "rice-burner" noise while driving? A throaty sound is ok, just no annoying "wwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Most are going to come in here and tell you BRM. Which I've heard and it is nice.
But personally, I'm not a straight-through muffler kinda guy. So as long as you have a good resonator, and nice quality muffler, it will flow good and not sound like an outboard motor.
Since I can't afford larger piping installed yet, my 240 will be getting a dynomax super turbo muffler and I'll be getting the sotck resonator cut out for a straight pipe. Should only notice a sound difference when I really get into the go pedal. (and even then it most likely won't be too loud)

Exhaust
It really depends on your application. Some guys know they are going to go turbo will get a 3" pipe exhaust and it may sound loud with the stock motor but for the turbo car its a mellow tone. Now if your staying stock I'd day look into the magnaflows and get the correct diameter.
