I've been reading a lot about rom tuning. I found a Bin that's for 450cc's and a n60 maf. Now that I have this bin, is there anyone on here I can send my ecu to get it socketed and chipped with this tune? Also the only ca18det ecu i have lying around is a automatic one. will that work? or do i need to get another 5 speed ecu?

Im probably going to go the nistune route. Looks to be close to standalone tuning wise, easy USB hook up to stock ecu, plus slim to none wiring necessary. 400 bucks though for chip n software.

I actually got my ECU socketed from jestrtuning in Orlando. He is a DSM ecu guy but he is excellent at soldering/desoldering. His website is http://www.jestrtuning.com I used to be able to burn eproms back when I was in college, but since I graduated I no longer have access to the equipment.

If you know any people who do their own street tuning on a Honda they could probably socket your ECU and burn you a chip. A lot of the Honda boards use the same kind of EPROMs as we do.

Nope you wont need a manual ECU. All the coding for the circuitry that controls the automatic is located in the ROM, simply chip it with a manual ROM and you are all set.

ca18detgabby, I remember you e-mailing me a while back but I failed to ever recieve your ECU, I would never just keep your ECU if I couldnt figure out the problem. I would either contact you or send it back promptly. I wasnt even charging you anything to look it over, but never recieved it. I wish you would have contacted me about it earlier. Did you try tracking it?

If you can show me it was signed for and delivered to me, i will credit you $200 towards any services I offer.
