Don't forget the maxima, truck and pathfinder's make good donors, just have to swap manifolds, oil pans and dipsticks.

telling us what part of the planet you live in might help people in your area offer local insight.

what have you found on Craigslist? if your finding way more Z32 parts local you may want to consider swapping to the vg30de but if both are rare there is always ebay.

Hey, I haven't found anything on craigslist in my area, however I found a scrapyard with a VG30ET with 90k miles on it, what would need to be don't to prepare my base model 300zx for this?

Many people would suggest you get the vg30et and swap all the turbo parts on the nonturbo engine you source from elsewhere, perhaps even a vg33 from a pathfinder

At the minimum you'd want the turbo ecu and maybe downpipe if possible to make life easier

What's wrong with your old one?

you'll need the crossmember from the turbo z31 as well as the turbo parts I believe.

You can run the vg30et without the turbo, it'll be down on power as a result of the lower compression, you'd have to change the injectors to keep running your ecu. There are plenty of vg30e's in trucks, pathy's and maximas in the junkyards where i live. The importers still sell them too and they are generally pretty cheap but it's miles and condition unknown when you buy a pallet motor.

Why do you want a replacement? Whats wrong with yours? It's not a terribly complicated engine to rebuild.
