Just wondering if there are any fans of the vintage Hakosuka GT-R?

I'm looking for one myself, just wondering if there are any fans on the site looking to sell theirs or know of anyone that is.

Gonna be selling my 2004 M45 to get one. Ive always been a fan of the vintage muscle.

Very few in the US. Several "clones", and a guy here ni AZ has a 74 (I think) that he was selling.

They're pricey, and good luck finding parts.

Certainly one of the most desireable old Japanese classics ever built.

Those cars are so nice. I have always wanted one ever since I spent some time in Okinawa, just wasn't able to bring one back.

I put a video up in my signature of one, if that video doesn't get your vintage blood boiling I don't know what will.

I would suggest looking for a non-GTR edition. You can have these imported from Japan without any legalization issues as they are older than 25ys. If you go that route I would spend a huge amount of time validating the importer and making sure they are Federal Registered as well so the proper forms can be filled out.

You're absolutley right. I have been doing a lot of research on these and how to get one. It is just a matter of time, I will have one.

I just need to sell the M45, and I have been aggressivley trying to do so as well to free up that extra stress of a car payment, if you know what I mean.

Intime...

I will be looking for one in a couple years myself. Wife wants a "older" home so money is going towards updates on this house for it to be put on the market at some point. Afterwards I have a green light to get what I want.

I hear that, a home is always more important.

I have that taken care of already, and I am not married and single so I might as well get my toys now.

If you haven't watched that video, you may want to check it out, then again, it may have you putting the home on hold status. I can't take blame for that.

I have a nice-large home already but the wife likes homes in the "craftsman style" of the 1930's-40's so my 37yo home is too new

I saw that video a while back. Very nice....

I am a fan of the Hakosuka, and here are a couple of pictures of me with one a couple years ago in Tokyo.

I will own one of those one day, well after the 33-R is purchased and built, but I will go for the 4 door R.

I also watched your video, and I just hate how some English speakers (not all) butcher the pronunciation of Hakosuka.

Nice pics. One of these days, I'll visit Tokyo as well. That Hakosuka looks super clean.

Correct me if I am wrong, the proper way to pronounce Hakosuka is Ha-Ko-sss-Ka right?

Yes, that's correct.

Hako-suka is incorrect, and it gets on my nerves so much. You know, we beat up other countries that can't speak our pronounce our language correctly, but we butcher other languages just as bad.

I have a 1974 Datsun 240K which is the Skyline HGC110 (GT). People often do GT-R conversions with these, which is what I will do.

I just saw your profile, and unless you did an engine swap, or it's a clone, the GT-R should have come with an S20.

The price you want to sell it for and what you may actually get out of it will differ if the engine has been swapped. The S20 is the more desireable engine and gives you better bargaining power when it's a true original.

Im a huge fan of the KPGC10. There is a guy in northern California that has sold two 72 skylines. He also had a ken & mary. All three cars were priced below 20K. Which seems like a lot of money for us here in the states But considering how much vintage skylines are selling for in Japan. A vintage skyline below 20K is a good price. I have talked with many japanese shops who restore these cars & they all say these cars are rising in price & quicly.

I agree these cars are very rare here in states. However I have never heard of a Real TRUE KPGC10 here in the us.

Good luck with your search it would be nice to see another here in the us.

Posted a few pics of one I saw at a local car show. (These are not the cars that were sale)

As much as I like the KPGC10, I would much rather have a PGC10 GT-R. Four door fury for the win!

I don't think that 4 door in the pic is an R, but I think I need to change my drawers...

Heres one for sale "again" I say again cause this car had been on ebay several times before last year and had been on multiple forum. Sadly no takers as the sell keeps raising his price back and fort. Any way heres the link. http://www.toyota3tc.com/forum...17140

Norcal510... I don't think theres any K"P"GC10 here in the US at least that I know of. I'm sure the two white Hakosuka are KGC10, beautiful cars by the way.

Hmm my understanding is that the "P" is designated for the GT-R model only, the rest are none GT-R model. Or are you just refering to the white 2 door shown being the real GT-R?

Looks like you were right. I wasn't aware that there was a KGC10. I thought both the 2 door and 4 door GT(-X) models were referred to as GC10s, and the K was for the coupe GT-R only. Took me a few minutes to search for it, but I must concede, you are correct sir.
