I have been doing some research on silvias and am interested in buying one for many reasons. First because they seem pretty strong in a sense of quality, second because their not that expensive, and third drifting sounds like fun. ok problems are that I have no F***ing clue how to drive stick and I'm probably going to rent a 5spd to learn from my uncle who does not have a standard of his own anymore. second problem is that I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to car knowledge and I dont want to be screwed in a deal. Lastly, I dont know what kind of 240 is considered good enough to buy as far as mileage, frame damage, certain areas that only someone who knew 240's personally would be able to notice while checking the car. I'm working with about 4g's and I would want to drive stock until I get a feel for my car and then go sr swap. I stay in SO. CALI. any help would be cool

First off.. take your time. Don't jump into anything too quickly before you learn what you're gonna do.

Second. Go read all the automotive articles on http://www.howstuffworks.com That'll give you the most basic information about cars.

Third. Learn as much as you can through these boards, and others like it.

Fourth. Get with some 240 people in your area. Make them your best friends. You'll learn more from them, and get a lot of experience by helping them with their cars.

Fifth.. don't give up! We all start from somewhere. Don't let anyone intimidate you... and always use the search button(In every message board you visit) :)

Others will give you more advice, but I think that about covers the basics.
