Currently have a mint condition Acura RL. Love the RL, but need the extra space a crossover SUV has. Got burned by VW with an '05 Touareg that was in the shop every other day. The RL was bought on a whim. I want to ensure I get the best deal with the FX35.

A dealer close to me (northern VA) has offered $1500 below dealer invoice. Sounds like a good starting point for negotiation. I've priced out the FX35 I want at $46,000. I believe the dealer invocie is about $42,000.

Please advise. Thanks

BTW, my research tells me the FX35 is quite reliable. What's your experience?

My only concern would be that a whole new redesigned FX is coming out this fall. The good news is that the last of the old design should sell cheaply. The bad news is that the resale value of the old design will likely be lower.

Just shop the dealers in your area. We got about $2k below invoice on our new '08 FX a couple weeks ago. We were aggressive in the price range, demanding only what we were willing to pay. They eventually came down to a reasonable level. The '08's will still be desireable even when the new model arrives IMO.

I just bought a fully loaded 08 fx45 with every option avail and i paid 10k less for the vehicle cuz the dealership was trying to move the last few fx 45's they had left to make room for the new fx coming. i paid 46k and some change for the fx 45 and coming from a g35 its ALOT more comfortable and the horsepower is awesome but you do pay at the pump but thats the cost you learn to live with. Now dont get me wrong the fx 35 is great too but i wanted more horsepower and the fx 45 is an awesome ride

You should post some pictures of your new FX45. I would love to see it. The FX45 is SWEET!!!! My wife didn't want the '08 FX because she said it would be old once the new one came out and she really liked the '09 Murano. We did get an awesome deal on the Murano.
