I was cruzing in my towncar, and I realized I should get some 20s for it. It needs a little more pimp juice added to it. So i'm gonna get some 20s. So far I've found these at america's tire co. These are 225: These are 299:

I don't want anything expencive. I dont' know much about rims, I never panned on anything but stock rims. So if anyone know of any websites or anything like that i'd appriciate it. Remember, cheap, I want to do everything for as little as possible. I don't care if the rims don't look the best. Right now it's on stock Lincoln 15s with Caps ;)

Here are some pix of my Lincoln:

Maybe it's just bad lighting, but that seat looks nasty. You may need to shampoo those seats. Rims may pimp it out some but nasty seats mess that up to hell and back.

Eh, while 20's aren't to my taste, the first set looks nice.

The seats are a velvet type material. They're not dirty, it's just the lighting... I'm not a bling guy usually, but I figured what the hell. I do nothing to my 240 but performance (not even rims) but this thing is slow anyway, might as well look cool.

Oh yeah, I meant to say pimp.. hehe. Pipe juice.. humm.. ya, I screwed up. Anyway, where can I see some 100 spokes? I think the grill is already chrome. Right? Check out the pix.

20s are gonna be bling on a car no matter what.. you also need to take handling, performance, price and saftey into consideration.. 17s, or maybe 18s could get away with out blinging but 20 will look and perform like anus.

20" tires are not going to be cheap

17" seems to make more sense, unless you have money to spend and want the "PIMP" bling look.

that is all, i have spoken.

The Towncar is huge, and it weighs 4000lb with only 140hp 240tq anyway. Basically it's slow as hell, it'll probably do 19s or 20s in the 1/4 mile, if it does 21s no big deal.

What do you think the issues are with Safety? I know they'll be heavy. Right now it has 215/70-15s on it. It'd get 245/35-20. Let me see how my math is...

This is for total circumference: Rim size Tire Total15" 381+150.5=531.5 (20.93")20" 508+85.75=593.75 (23.38")Increase = 2.45"

The total increase will only be 2.45 inches. Isn’t that not a big deal? The factory rims are small, but the tires are huge. I don't think the weight will be an issue; I’m not sure what other safety concerns there are. It's a Towncar.. It's big. I'd feel like going with anything smaller would just be lame. I don't dislike the stock caps. I just wanted more bling. I can get those rims for 1000 total. And the tires are 179 each. Expencive, but I could handle it.

240sxer, your calculation is flawed. You need to add BOTH sidewalls into the equation. As it is, it looks like you only added one sidewall into the overall diameter measurement.

215/70-15 = 26.85" OD, section width: 8.46"245/35-20 = 26.75 OD, section width: 9.65"

70% of 215mm(150.5mm), multiply by 2(301mm) to account for both sidewalls,add wheel diameter(15" = 381mm),so, 301(wall heights) + 381mm(rim diameter) = 682mm,convert to standard by dividing 682 by 25.4 = 26.85" Tire OD.

Ahh.. Okay. My bad. So in reality the size is almost the exact same. That's cool. The 20 is actually smaller. But the speedo and stuff won't change. I don't see how the weight will be a concern. What will it add? Another 150-200lb to the car at the most? It's already over 4000. No big deal.
