I have a white 2007 SL hatchback that just hit 40k miles. Tires are just about shot and I can either get tires from Costco for $440 out the door or I was thinking I could get rims and tires and keep it under 1100 or so.

I am partial to gun metal colored rims and sort of mesh pattern:

Something like this looks ok to me as well:

I would love to get 18s but will go with 17s if there are issues with 18s rubbing or anything like that. Not planning on lowering my car any time soon and want to keep the speedo as close as possible. Also need to get the TPMS transmitters as well I assume.

Looking for input and any other "gotchas" with swapping rims.

These are what I'm hopefully getting next year. I think they'd look good on a white V.

I think the shipping would kill it. Send me info about them if you like though.

Thanks! I kind of dig those Knightro2. Sort of remind me of the stock rims on a Lexus IS. I am going to visit some rim shops tomorrow and see what kind of package I can get.

Just a reminder, rims with a lip look smaller. I have 17s with a lip and sometimes ppl ask if they are 15-16.

I am going to shoot for 18s. Thanks for the input. If I am able to find those Borbet's Knightro2, I'll take a pic for you.

I have 18's that I'd part with with the rubber and the tpms for $1000(swap your tpms for mine) The rubber has about 5k miles on them and you can see my car- vanessa- on the wheel and tire database link in my sig.

I am the person that got the grounding kit. It's been good for my electrical. HIDs light up faster, stereo seems louder and the car seems stronger when going up hills when the CVT is running around 3200-3700 RPMs.

Wound up getting these in 17s with tires and all the TPMS stuff moves from my other rims for 1200 out the door. HW Motorsport in Garden Grove for you So Cal people. Honest, good prices (I shopped around a lot) and good selection. Low pressure too. Went to a couple of shops and the scary smokey guy kept saying, "Ok, you buy now, this great price, you can't beat."

Get them on Saturday. I'm happy. Now I probably need to get my car lowered....

Are yours 17s or 18s? I have a white V, so the red stripe would have been a little silly. Red or black car and it would have been hot!

What springs do you have? Good ride? I think I will lower, but I want to keep a soft/comfortable ride. I drive for work and want to not hear the wife complain if I drive either!

I will look into those. Is that about a 2" drop? Or less?

I got mine used with Falken Azenis's and lugs for $540. I don't think you'll be finding a deal that good anytime soon but maybe close? Idk if you're up for used wheels either. Mine were flawless.

There's a pic in my sig. They're SSR mf1's 18x8 +37 front. 18x8.5 +30 rear. 225/40 and 235/40. I probably get some small spacers too.

Btw, sounds like a good deal on those tires.
