So, with that in mind, does anyone know anything about "Drag" wheels. Im looking at their DR-31 in particular 18x8 35mm bs. You can sort of see them in my sig. Opinions on this wheel company appreciated, as I've never heard of them until now.

I personally think they look like poopoo... so does adidas (this thread has existed before!)

Some nico coupes have em though

hmm, as in bad build quality overall? I couldnt seem to find anything on the DR31's (granted the search isnt exactly user friendly the more I try to use it the less I like that it searches ALL Nico and wont let me just look here)

but anyway, I think they go pretty well with the scheme Im going for. Heres the photoshop without the altima outline.Aside from these and the XR Dangeris has, any more ideas on a red/black wheel? I'm looking at all options right now :-P

Eh, its just that 18's look so tiny on this car, even with the drop. 19's or 20's are going to be your best bet. Drag's aren't my favorite choice of rim, as Brian mentioned. they look fairly run of the mill, ordinary.

I agree that the rim design does look run of the mill, but not too much in black with a red lip is going to look ordinary by any means :P. Aside from that, any idea of a good place to find some red/black 19's? I dont really want to go with 20 because of tire costs and higher wear ratings on most of the tires that mare made for 20's. Not sure if 19s are the same or not, but I know 18s are fairly inexpensive and can be found with good treadwear

When you get above 18" tires, they are ALL expensive. You would always buy an all black rim, and paint the lip the way you want it. With a good quality prep and paint, it will look just as good as any production black/red wheel out there. Just look at Dangerous' car

lol, while that is a possability, I'm not a big fan of buying something just to change it. When it comes to accesories anyways, as for the car, had I wanted to leave it stock, I wouldve started with a G like I had planned originally lol. I think I will stick with 18s though, the cost is too much more for the 19s, for not a big difference in appearance. Not worth it to me.

its def about what you want, but from outside viewers perspective, there is DEFINATELY a difference between 18"s and 19"s... in order for your car not to look completely ridiculous in 18's, you'll need to go with some 45 series tires, which will be very thck, losing the low profile look... if you try to go with low profile tires on 18's, it will look ridiculous! THe tire diameter will be too small, they wheels will look too small for the car and your speedometer/odometer will be wayy off

regarding treadlife and cost, you can get 20" tires with the same treadlife as 18" tires for about the same price (check ebay) But the only way to ACCURATELY compare treadlife is within the same company, NOT across companies... there is no universal standard on treadlife acorss companies, so comparing 200 A A tires from michelin says NOTHING when comared against 200 A A ires from Goodyear!

excellent point. I hate to see when a car has low profile on anything less than a 20 honestly. They just dont belong. That said the tire size Ive been looking at has been 245/45/18, which is about 1.7% off from stock according to a few calculators

This chop is definitely not to scale for 18" rims, probably close to 20" or 19". If a rim's spokes extend all the way out to the edge, I think 19's look perfect, but 18's can get the job done. If the rim has a lip, I wouldn't go any smaller than 19's (leaning heavily on 20's) since they look about an inch smaller.

Good choice if you're going with 18's, my tires are that size. It eats up a little bit of those huge wheel wells and like rjdmmfl1 said, doesn't make things look goofy.

yeah, your 245 45 18's look great with the drop! A while back, someone posted an Altima Coupe on what looked like 225 / 35/18's and the car looked ridiculous!

! Wow, 2" smaller diameter vs. stock... I guess the good thing about these forums is that you can see what works well and what catastrophically fails.

lmao no kidding, that would look obsurd! A little taller than stock is moy prefered. Besides it makes the speedo a smidge more accurate. (Havent been through a speed checker yet, but arent most a little fast?)

I call foul on all accounts...I got 4 20" tires for $500 delivered (i dont think thats a ripoff)

I also believe Dangeris' wheels are anodized (which is better than paint) and they came that way.

LOL! burnage.

Im gonna do some minor testing you guys will get to see later this week. Im gonna go with the drag wheels for sure now in 18's. Will purchase in about 3 weeks . In the mean time, thursday ive got some red flourescent striping coming in (from the motorcycle shop.. I can be creative woot!) for the stockers which will be sprayed black with that outlining for the next few weeks.

Oddly, my MAIN reason for wanting wheels, is that I HATE the stock tires!! They just dont make me feel safe that Im gonna stay on the road in any circumstances aside from perfect..

FINALLY... someone realizing tires make a difference. Its refreshing from reading members going 80 on curves in the rain with stock tires.
