Hey all, this is my first post here. I hope this is the appropriate place to ask for advice on this.

I'm looking at this 240sx, and after talking to the owner it seems to be a pretty good deal, but there is one issue.

It's an Ohio car and there is some rust in the rear wheel wells and along the bottom of the car.

Does anyone have an idea of how much that might cost to fix? I want a 240sx but I'll keep looking if the rust would be overly expensive.

Thanks in advance guys.

if u are gonna fix it your self mabey 100 $ if u are gonna get a shop to do it figure about 1000 $. Even then it still depends if they are gonna cut and patch new metal in or if they are gonna replace the whole pannel.

To give some advice from my experience, rust is the anti-christ! Its like zombie cancer. If its just surfave rust... sand it, coat it and paint it. If its chipping or theres a hole forming, step away cause unless its treated properly.....90% of the time it will come back. Save yourself the headache and work and keep looking mang.

I bet there is a lot more rust hiding.

That's not really too bad. I'd be afraid the rust would come through again if I did it myself though. I didn't realize the bottom panel was replaceable. I'd just take it to a couple body shops myself but I don't own the car.

Alright I probably will. I don't want a cash vacuum or a fast car that looks like a**.

There always is.

I am more curious about the rust you speak of that's along on the bottom of the car.

That spot on the rear wheel well doesn't seem to bad...yet.
