I've owned a Honda since I started driving, but ever since I laid my eyes on a Z32 I knew that I wanted one!

My friends neighbor is selling one but it has some problems and I need to find out if its worth it.

The ABS right behind the passenger seat runs non-stop when the battery is plugged in. I'm assuming that I will be able to take out the fuse until I am able to figure out exactly what's wrong with it and get it fixed.

It won't charge the battery but that's just the alternator.

The biggest issue is that it grinds going into 3rd and 4th gear(not sure about 5th). The guy said he changed the clutch not to long ago for $850. I have no clue what this could be other than a transmission problem, has anyone else heard about this happening or know what it could be?

He is selling it for 1100, but I'm sure I can talk him down to 700 because I would have to push it home due to the dead battery. What do you guys think?

if its only 3rd and fourth it may be a shifter adjustment..........but for 700 bucks you have a good platform to work with.........remember its 20yo

If the car is in good condition physically I would buy it, the problems mentioned are all relatively easy to fix depending on your mechanical skills. the grinding issue could be the synchro's but they usually effect 2nd and 4th. The first thing I would do is check the fluid lvl and bleed it all properly from both bleed points, then adjust the pedal correctly. If it still grinds switch the fluid to redline mt90. As for the battery not charging it's likely the alternator like you said though battery's sometimes wont take a charge anymore as well.

My n/a was grinding in 4th alot and other gears every now and then. i replaced the clutch master and slave cylinder and it was fine ever since. For 700 bucks i would go for it. Sounds like you got a steal
