-First and foremost, not selling the r50-

So i've been thinking lately and i want to pick up another ride, except this time i wanted to finance one. I just want something under like 80k miles.

I dont want the monthly payment more then i dont know lets say for now $450, and probably a max of 48 months. I wanted to see what other options you guys could suggest, i'll list the cars im interested in, and you can probably go off of that.

So 1 i want it 4 door, 2 door insurance will probably go up 2x, needs to be manual if they have an option, if manual was NOT an option then the shiftable automatic is acceptable, i want something fast, sleek, sedan, i dont want suv/crossover or hatchbacks (not a fan of hatches), preferably RWD or AWD, if its FWD it really has to be something that appeals to me, otherwise its already off the books lol.

new list:

2003 Audi RS6 20-25k

2002-2003 Mercedes C32AMG 11-15k

2000-2003 BMW M5 17-21k

2003-2005 Subaru Wrx STI - 16-20k

2004-2005 Mercedes E-55 AMG 23-25k

2005 Cadillac CTS-V 23-25k

2006-2007 Dodge Charger SRT-8 19-25k

So going from those, im looking if you guys have other options you think would appeal, also give your reasoning if its something i said i wouldnt like, Im open to ideas, i want to make sure i hit all the options so i can then narrow it down and not worry that im missing something.

Thanks guys! :)

I always disliked most of the american cars, but id definetly rock the 5.0 premium in this color all day

3rd, sonata is my dads.

Audi i bought and paid for up front, same with the path off my dad, i worked 30-35 hrs a week, since 16 during school :), some weeks a little less.

Right now im going to community college, but other then that i have no other expenses so why not.

And its college, gotta step my game up a little, i had probably the best done up cars at my high school but, here theres some competition hahah, 2-3 done up sti;s one brand new one, a bagged stage 2 gti (im a lil jealous lol, i want to bag my A4 but its $2650 for the full digital system), new a6, and a few others, but not much only a couple that are higher end, most of these kids their parents gave them money for all of it.

But yeah i love cars and since i have nothing else i need to spend money on, why not.

And nothing better then having the top s*** car and knowing you paid for it yourself and not someone elses money, otherwise theyd never have it.

PS: Bought a $1 scratch-off actually today for the first time in a while, didnt win jack

Nice color on that Mustang...

I'm not into tuning & such, but a co-worker bought her boyfriend a newer Mitsubishi. Some type of sporty something or other (crossover-ish??).

He tuned it to better than 300HP at the wheels.

-Ill find out what the Mitsu was

Before my mustang i was considering a lexus is350...those are sexy with some deep dish wheels and lowered.

Why not start saving for your own house?

Audi RS6

I wouldn't go for the Mercs because of poor reliability. I've wanted an e39 M5 ever since I first laid eyes on it. The thing with all those rare German sedans is that you need to plan a whole lot of extra cash to keep up with the maintenance.

BTW, you could also go for a Jaguar S-Type R which would be quite unique.

I actually like the stype looked similar to the bently continetal in a way.

But they have spotty reliability,

As for german sedans and maintainance, parts arent all much more expensive ( sure a few things are depending on what ) but i do all maintaince/ any repairs on all the cars so it doesnt bother me as i wont be getting raped at the shop with labor charges.

And Qxxx4, i actually looked at the is350 too, but it just doesnt appeal to me for any reason compared to the other cars i listed, if anythint id get a is300 before that cause i liked them more.

Im basically looking at 25k and under. I always have a thing for high end sports luxury sedans and stuff, it defiently makes older people double take too haha, but ive never been much of a fan of like the STI, yea teenagers think its cool and fast. But the interior is balls and i rather sit in my supple leather seats, and blow you away in a luxury sedan. Thats my take on it lol

Id have to agree. Youve got good taste so many people blow their money on tuner cars like sti's but a nice luxury sedan is so much more car. Style and speed. I love the is350 but i think theyre overpriced. For a lightly used one you could easily buy a decent audi or bmw

Yeah, im not saying stis and such are bad cars, but if it comes down to it im a diehard evo 8 mr fan over any sti. If i could afford both a high end luxury and a tuner evo i would get one.

But in the end thats what seperates the men from the boys.

Sport luxury sedan/coupe > tuners

Edit: @camelfilter, its probably thr mitsubishi outlander.

My one uncle bought new one back in 07 or 08, i think fully loaded, rockford fosgate system, better wheels, navi, leather. Ive driven it a few times and it wasnt a bad car, pretty nice, awd too, had some pep to it and good handling.

But he paid a premium for it new with all that stuff i think 34k+ i dont remember exactly and i wouldnt justify that much money on a mitsubishi crossover. I think the newest ones also came with more power and also a sport version.

I would put your money into a house. My dad got me into nice condo at the beach for school . I had 4 roommates we all paid rent but after school it was given to me. He paid a lil over 130k, I sold it for just over 360k before the market went to crap. Using some of the money I found 3 houses in a neighborhood that were 2 years old that were foreclosed on. They are starter homes and sold for 148-155k new. I paid under 200k for all 3 and I get 1,200 a month for rent each. Right now it is a buyers market and I would put your money towards a home.

Turbogst, thanks for the suggestion, i was actually looking at this last year, and early this year..

I dont really see myself doing it now, because for one i know i wont be staying where i currently live even as soon as the end of 2013. I want to move down to Florida because theres a ton of jobs down there in the field im in (Network Technology / Computer Forensics & Security) and i can also find a pretty nice decked out newer built house down there for 120k or under. I would consider doing what you did once i lived down there, but in my current state i dont have time to travel down there, buy a foreclosed house, fix it up some and put it out for rent.

I just dont like the area we currently live in, its just basically crap. Nothing fancy or great about it, just a higher end suburban type valley. At least down there for my age, theres a nightlife, activities to do etc. Here its great if your 50, like golfing on the weekends and grilling on your porch ( not that its bad but yeah ).

Hey im 23 and i love golfing and grilling!! LOL cars are amazing, i am obsessed and would love to blow all my cash on them, but reality sets in. I bought my house with my girlfriend last year before buying my new car and its already went up 15 percent in value. homes in my area have doubled in price in 8 years and values seem to be ramping up more every year. Alot of my friends are putting off buying houses but the prices keep going up...meaning itll be even longer for them to pay off their mortgage and they are starting later. Home ownership is what sets the men from the boys when you approach mid 20s :p

Cars will always be a money pit, and having 3 of them makes things worse for you. I know your young and all but saving money is good. It makes life easier. Life gets super expensive once on your own especially in a new city. There is so much that you dont expect that comes up. And saving for retirement is another thing everyone overlooks which the sooner you start the sooner you retire. Its your $ and were all strangers but its friendly advice. Putting money aside into a safe investment will do a hell of alot more for you later than $450 a month to a car loan would. Enjoy your audi and r50, those are wicked cars especially at your age!

I know where your coming from with stuff being more expensive later on in life then people think, i completely agree for you most people arent ready for it.

And with the house like i said, im still undecided where i want to live. But like you said, im obsessed also, i would have never went to work and work as much as i did when i was 16 if i didnt have an interest in cars, thats basically what made me want to make money to get myself that stuff.

Yeah i like grilling too, i grill multiple times a day :bigthumb: . But its just the fact right now my dad told me back in high school he would pay for education but nothing else, so i dont have to worry about paying for college ( although community for this year isnt much ), but im finishing up my A.A.S in Network Technology probably by Summer 2013 (yeah 1 year, i took some college courses during junior/senior year of highschool), and then i'll go from there but ill probably go for a B.A in Computer Forensics and Security.

As of now though i feel like i deserved to fully spoil myself once. I got the A4 cause it was in amazing condition, price and maintained, but its not 100% something i wanted cause its tiptronic and i have to do a 5spd swap if i want to do anything more then 275whp. The R50 im happy with, but the fact of turboing this thing and finishing it all the way up is a future project when i have a spare 5 grand, but im gonna do it regardless.

They are great cars i guess for my age... but i'll be damned i want that RS6 sitting in my garage right now. So rare, nice, and powerful as hell.

Hey, I just got my A.S. in Computer Information Technology and just started pursuing a B.S. in Information Technology Management / Cyber Security. I was gonna go up to University of North Florida to get it, but I said screw it and just stayed down here and will get it at a local state college. Much cheaper since I can live at home, and I can stay with my girlfriend instead of being 250 miles away. :bigthumb: I figure employers don't care much as long as you have a B.S. from somewhere, ya know?

I have nothing to add regarding another vehicle though, I don't know too much about anything else or care to look since I'm happy with my R50.

Yeah...its all up to you! Speaking of the R56 i saw one at my work yesterday. I work in electronics engineering and all the higher up guys love their audis. Theres everything from base a4's, to even an R8 v10 (sounds amazing). Something about audis really attract technical people.

I feel you on the manual i love my q but until i got my mustang i was dying for a sporty fun stick shift car. Manual is so much fun!

Good choice on the field of study...computer security alone is a huge industry especially for banks.

As an Audi owner, I'd suggest staying away from an RS6 unless it's well documented and has a warranty.

That said, I'd be willing to buy another allroad IF I could find a well documented (timing belt, turbos, suspension, etc) 6 speed for a good price.

If you're seriously looking at Audi's & Mercedes Benz's, check a user named Bruce M on quattroworld.

One car I might add to our list, is a Pontiac G8 GT or GXP.

I see the e39 M5 on your list, but what about a 2001-2003 540i M-tech?

it looks like a M5, but costs about half as much (Where I am)

e39's have a huge forum following, so there are DIY's for everything.

Im picky about that stuff in terms of if theres a "better more equipped" model available i need to get that one, cause in the future i will be kicking myself in the a** when i do performance mods, or want the extra features.

I listed the E55 AMG in my list, but to be honest im trying to avoid it cause theres the e63 amg, and i dont want the lower e55.

Other then that, the rs6 is the top of the line, same with the srt, m5, sti, etc - you get my drift.

And i dont like the models where its like you said a 540 but probably M wheels, aero kit, etc, its like a fake M.

Theres a guy around where i live that has a clean white e39 badged as an M5, when its actually a 535i with different wheels and i can tell by the exterior and that it only has pipes on the left side vs 4 like a true M. Makes me LOL everytime cause i can smoke him with my A4 1.8T in the midrange, but no its an M5 watch out haha.

And if its about the price range, id take the c32 over the 540 M-tech, they are probably around the same price, but c32 being the better car.

What about the C55 AMG then? Its better than the C32 but of the same generation.

G8 GT or GXP. +1

Real estate is a better investment though.

Dude do not get a AMG anything unless you have very good income. Your going to feel real awesome if something happens to the car and you have to work 6 months just to put it back on the road. We bought a brand new 2005 sl55 it had it's problems but even has a 2nd car it can be costly. Plus upgrades for them lol , I was so happy to get out of that car and into the zo6.

Why are you stuck on 4 doors? I'm asking because you have the Audi and the pathfinder? you have two vehicles that people can tag along in why not get something fun for you. my list would go like this

c5 zo6
03-04 cobra
c6
GTO

His insurance would be too high. Thats why i waited a few years before getting my first 2 door. Its so foolish.

Yeah like Qxxx4 said about insurance.

The c55 i have seen also but its a n/a v8, vs c32 is a v6 with a charger ontop. The v6 will probably get me better mileage, along wih being easier to modify right off the bat.

@Turbogst- SL55s especially that new, yeah maintaince or if serious stuff breaks will kill you but im not getting a 95k+ coupe.

C32 is a c class benz, with some modifications, maintainance wont kill me cause its probably like my audi. If you look at it, brand new my a4s sticker price was 34k, a C class benz from those years is around the same, just this one has the better engine so it would have been more but thats mostly in exterior/interior/suspension brakes everything else is the same.

And now if you look at a base sl500 model, new they are already 75-80k plus.

Get a quote my insurance was cheaper on a 2000 c5 corvette then it was on a 99 eclipse gsx. You might also want to check the prices of the cars your looking at AMG stuff usually taxes on a premium. On the Sl55 it was a good bit more than my ZO6.

That was the only benz I have ever owned but I remember looking at other AMG cars and engine replacements were pricey among other items. Vette motor goes, I'll swap in something Nasty lol. I will say the new GTR's have my interest but from what I have seen maintenance would have my wife ready to throw my body in a ditch.
