Hello to all. I'm new to the 240sx scene. I'm currently searching in the GA area for a couple of 240sx options.

My price range puts me in the s13 class. I'm a nissan VQ series motor guy by heart, so I know very little about the KA series motor line. I know some of the sr20 but only enough to be dangerous.

Perhaps everyone can tell me some common things to check on the 240sx. I know the standard stuff, I specifically am looking for information like

"Right door always rusts on the bottom, check for that""Motors leaks oil around rear right corner of valve cover, check for that"

Those may be a little off the wall but I think you get the point.

Also this car is for sale in atlanta. I'm not sure the advantage of 91 cams...but maybe someone here can explain. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/213407268.html

Quick question guys.

I am going to look at a low mileage sub 100k 240 tonight. However the owner indicated that the front of the motor sounds like the marble in a tin can issue. So I presume those tabs have already broken off.

Will it be an issue for me to drive it approx 30 miles at under 70mph with these broken? Or should it not be driven at all?

Thanks for the help!

GL. Last 2 times my engine sounded like it had a marble in it, it spun a bearing.

when my KA sounded like it had a marble inside it.. turns out there WAS a marble inside it

ook in all seriousness, my KA DID in fact sound that way, and rod bearing #4 was completely spun

you can drive it.. but personally i wouldnt trust it going that far in its current condition
