I'm looking at an I30. It's an '01 with 79,000 miles. Asking price is about $7800. Autocheck report comes back clean, 1 owner. I rack up miles very quickly, between 25k & 30k a year. Is the durability of this car pretty good? Gas mileage (I drive mostly highway)? How about comfort - I have a bad back and need a comfortable car? Anything special I should check out before buying? Thanks.

Welcome to NICO!

Great choice for a highway drive. Should look to get between 22-28 mpg depending on driving habits. Other than making sure all of the proper maintenance has been done, the ride is pretty solid.

I bought my '00 I30 about 4 months ago and love it. Great ride, great gas mileage, and really good power. I've taken it on 2 long road trips now and got between 26-28mpg depending on how heavy I was on the gas pedal. Very reliable as well. I had a 95 Maxima before my I30 and it had 225k on the original drivetrain with no issues at all. As already stated above, just keep up with the maintenance on it and it should last you a long time.

That seems pretty steep on the price though... There's one in my area on Craigslist that has a very similar description and he's only asking $7,000. I thought that was a little high but it had been very well taken care of. I'd look around a little if you have time to, i've seen better deals on them. Just my 2 cents
