I found one after weeks of looking. It's a 95 dark red base model, with spoiler, grey cloth, 5spd, power everything, moonroof, and cd changer...but it has 144k miles. This kind of mileage just scares me but I know these cars are very reliable. Would you recommend passing this up or should I just go for it. I wouldn't really be doing any heavy mods right away, but I just don't want it to die soon since it will be the daily driver. The price seems pretty good to me at $3800, but I figured I'd ask the experts first before taking the 5 hour drive.

Thanks guys...

I dont know

I would personally get it. I drove a total of 51 hours for my 240. BUT it isnt a daily driver and the head gasket did blow later BUT I was also informed that it needed a coolant flush an neglected to get one. So it breakinbg down wasnt a big deal (it was but not urgent). I would say get it and then some maintenance. Change all the fluids. Thermostat, coolant flush. That is what I SHOULD have done...but it worked out...that was my excuse to get a swap.

What about the chassis? Wouldnt a high milage chassis be weaker than say a lower milage one. I was thinking about this the other day, i mean a higher milage one might have seen more dips, bumps, taps, drifts, etc....

Yeah I'm still hesitant. I'd like to get a lower mileage one...but these 5spds are so hard to find, ya know? I need to sell my current car before I buy another, but I don't wanna sell it and not find another car for a while and be without a car for a prolonged time. I'd probably take a 91-94 240 if it was lower mileage and good shape, but...I can't find many 5spds in those either. I think I'll have to pass this one up if he doesn't drop the price any more...

Same problem here... Theres about 4 240's that i know in the Salt Lake area that are for sale. Two are convertibles and one is an high priced fastback and the other is a nice low miled coupe but its auto. Im thinking of going for the convertible just cuz its cheap but it has around 120 or 130K miles and im scurred cuz the chassis might be really weak now, I heard some average miled ones wobble and s***.

You can always do a 5 speed transmission swap. I think the total price for parts would be around $300.
