New to the forum, in the market for a big SUV and test drove a 2010 QX56 this afternoon with 78K miles. First off, I have been a Chevy guy my entire life. That is, until my 2009 Texas Edition Silverado started burning 3 quarts of oil every 3K miles when it hit about 75K miles. Long story, but GM came up with a bright idea (AFM - active fuel management), that turned out to be NOT such a great idea, and GM of course will not repair it. A class action lawsuit is pending, but I've already decided I won't buy another one. So, what do I need to know about the QX56? It felt great going down the road, tons of features, all the amenities you could possibly want. I know the gas mileage isn't great, but coming from a full size GM truck, and my wife drives a Suburban, this is nothing new to us. This particular one we are looking at is at a CARMAX dealership, seems to have been well taken care of, and I am just trying to get some information from people that are familiar with this type vehicle? I looked up the NADA/KBB value and it came back right around 27K, which is only a grand less than what they are asking for it, so I know it's in the ball park. Anything specific I need to look out for? Any factory recalls I need to check into? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
