Looking at an 2006 M45 with 39,000. I belive it is the sport becuase it has the 19's and the darker looking headlights, However it has the wood trim instead of alluminum. I drove the car on saturday and it drives like a dream. But, i am used to my big dodge diesel so most cars drive like a dream to me. Its rather flawless except from small paint chips near the rear probably due to rocks and the crappy roads around Houston. The are asking right at $23,000 for the car. There is no warranty, except a powertrain warranty from infiniti that they said is transferable. This would be my first car and i think it is awsome! i am curious if you in this community think that it is a good deal and should I be worried since it is out of the bumper to bumper warranty. It is gray, with Black guts!

Thanks,

John

Did you look at the 2006 M35 Sport from Clear Lake Infiniti? It has 31,500mi and they are asking $26,995.00. Stock number: P1391They will negotiate price some. Here's the link: http://www.getauto.com/autolin...er_id-

At least it is under warranty. It has a beautiful color combination and the interior has the aluminum trim package as well. It even has the Aerodynamics package too! Let me know, and I can inform the guy I know over there to take care of you.

J,

I would love to check out that m35. I have not driven one so I have nothing to compare the 45 too. I am in Brenham and am not surfe when I could get to clear lake most likely the weekend, That price would have to come down a little too I just graduated college and am headed to Law school this fall, trying to save a few bucks when I can. If you would let them know I am interested I can e-mail you some of my contact info.

Thanks,

John

I'm sorry jwink. I didn't see or pay attention to you looking at a M45 instead of the M35. If your set on the M45, then your search will be all the more difficult or rare. There is just not nearly as many M45's out there as M35's. But there is a big difference in power between the two. That was my reasoning for purchasing the M45 over the M35. If you want that extra power, then the M45 will be your fix. If your just looking for a well balanced powered lux sport sedan with lots of features and power is not on the top of the list, then the M35 will fit your bill just fine.

Not a bad deal for it really. I would see if you can get the price lowered some. Just pick at the things you find wrong with the car and use it as leverage.Look at the tires too, check for abnomal wear patterns and of course the tread life left. Also, you might want to take it for a day (they should allow you too if they know your serious about buying it) Then take it to an Infiniti dealer's body shop to check it out for previous wrecks. Also see what it would cost for Infiniti to look the car over. It would be worth it in the long run. You don't want to buy someone elses problems. Not a car that is sophisticated as these are. It would be good insurance for you to do this. One thing to consider when you buy this car is performing the 30,000mi service. It's very well possible the previous owner did not do this. It is highly recommended for the longevity of this car. Major items that need to be done that are included in the 30,000mi service:-Trans fluid flush or drain and fill-Coolant flush-rear diff fluid change-you might even consider a brake fluid flush. Oh, by the way, being the car has 40,000mi on it, you might want to get the remaining brake pad thickness checked. They might be getting close to needing replacement. Especially if the previous owner was heavy on the brakes. One thing I noticed when I test drove mine was when I drove it to 80mph and applied the brake pedal, the steering wheel vibrated all the way until the car slower to under 60mph. They serviced the front brake rotors before I purchased it. The 19" wheels are also subjected to getting bent fairly easy compared to the 18" wheels. Test drive the car it check for vibrations at various speeds. If vibrations are felt, you could have a bent wheel, bad tire, or just out of balance. Also, since you are buying this car at 40,000mi, have the alignment performed on the car. This car has 4-wheel independant suspension. Alignments get out of specifications over time. Alignment should be checked/ performed every 15,000mi. Just because a vehicle doesn't pull to the left or right, doesn't mean the alignment is in its specified ranges. There are three different adjustments to an alignment if you or anyone else didn't know. Caster, camber, & toe.Just check out everything. In the middle of all the ecitement of buying the car you might forget about checking all items for proper operation. Check all electrical items for operation. Are they giving you any warranty on the car at all?I'm telling you this to help you buy properly and because it is not certified.Even a certified car gets run through quickly and items get over looked. I think certified pre-owned vehicles are over rated. Take mine for example! They didn't check the rotor run-out. If they did or even test drove it properly, then they would have caught the warped rotors on my car. It made me think twice about that dealership after the fact. Well, I hope this helps you out! Good luck!

That deal is okay, but not great by any stretch. The car has 40,000 on it and was probably bought in 2005 so it is coming up on 4 years old. It sounds like it has the sport package and the african rosewood package (which is an add-on for the sport)

I just bought a 2007 M45 with 20,000 miles with the tech, advanced tech, sport, and rosewood packages. It also had the factory lip kit installed. The dealers starting price was $25,995 and I got him to budge from that even.

I would make sure to run the VIN through Autocheck to check for any wrecks or other issues.

Here is one from Texas that is black and only has 18k on it:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...sting

In short, unless you get them to budge on the price, you could probably do better.

You have to be kidding me! The value on these cars is that bad already???You make me feel like I really got screwed over on mine!! That just sucks. The market here is very strong for the M cars here in the Houston area. If buying from a dealer, the price tag is automatically 4-5K higher. Well, I will not post what I paid for mine, but I'm happy with my car. Its condition bested every other M45 that I looked at in Texas in the last two months.Plus I have 3.9% financing. BTW: Texas Direct Auto's cars are in pretty bad condition once you get within 5-10 ft of them. Their photos are very deceiving. I looked at 5 of their M45's in those 2 months of searching. All of them were in sub-par condition. If you asked them if one of their cars your looking at has been in a wreck, their automatic answer is no! They are just liars. There was two of them that I took time out to go see and within 10 ft of the car you tell it was clearly in an accident. Upon closer inspection it was confirmed. Beware of Texas Direct Auto!

Yeah, I'm begging to think I might have to settle for a 35. I am looking to spend 24K max on car at the moment I know I should hold off because cars are more thyan likely going to get cheaper in the short run, but man those M's are just too sweet I want one!!

You can get an '06 M45 Sport with Adv Tech, Journey packages and around 30k miles for around $24k. I did.

Just keep looking. Use eBay for reference, and if you find one locally, check it out in person and buy outside of eBay.

I would not pay more than $25,000 for a pristine M45 with all the options. The market for cars stinks, so take advantage of it. Take your time, and do some research. There are people on here that paid 22k for 2006 M35 with under 36k miles.

Yeah, but what would you expect to pay for 07' & up M45's that had under 20K miles and had the 6yr/ 100K certified warranty? You said 25K! Wow! I definitely got the shaft then! I still even went further and purchased the Elite Service Warranty for an additional $1750.00

'07 M45 with under 20k and a 60m 100k warranty is probably worth $27-28k. You do have all the options, right?

But there is some price variance across the nation. Some areas are cheaper (Florida), some are more expensive (Central US).

As long as you are happy with the car and its condition, it does not matter what you paid. There will always be cheaper cars, weather people, prettier women out there.

I ended up paying $36,000 out the door. I paid a lot I'm sure. It had 18,000mi, no dings, dents, chips, or scratches. Perfect interior. Under the hood in perfect shape too. All options....well....no. It is the base model, with Tech, Advanced Tech, factory chrome 18" wheels, and factory Aero Pkg. The thing is, I couldn't find them any cheaper at any of the dealers in Texas. Even when I did, it was either an 06' model with higher mileage, or even if it was an 07' and it was cheaper, they had multiple scratches, rock chips, or worn interiors. At the same time, when they would get one or a couple, they would be sold in less than 2 days or a week at max. All of the dealer had 06 M45 models priced between $27,995-$33,995. The 07' M45 were all priced between $31,995-$38,995The 08' M45 were going between $37,995-$46,995.Like I said, it took me over 2 months to find a clean M45 like I purchased. I also wanted the Graphite gray and black interior combo. If and when a dealer would get a few M45's it had the exterior color I wanted, but it had either the stone or wheat interior. Or vice versa. I will admit I paid more than I wanted to, but I am satisfied with the outcome of the condition of the car.

If you look at all of the local Infiniti dealers websites in and surrounding Houston you will see what I'm talking about.Everyone of them are priced high and their selection is small to none on M45's. Even the selection for the M35's is small. They sell very fast here. The dealers know there is a high demand for them here, so they mark up the prices.
