I'm considering picking up a 2003 350z touring edition with a 6spd. The car seems to be ok. It's got 58k miles on it. No big problems stand out. The only thing that bothers me is the clutch pedal. I'm slightly concerned that that master cylinder could be going out. The pedal feels nice and firm when you depress it but it doesn't feel like it bounces back as fast as it should. I've never driven one of these cars before but in my 240sx and my Evo, the pedal practically stays glued to your foot, it springs back so fast. You guys think it could be a hydraulic issue or a clutch issue? Anything else I should be aware of with these cars?? Thanks

The clutch has is very nice and smooth in the 350z. Not like evo. But I would recommend test driving another one so you can get a better idea of how it should feel.

It also wouldnt hurt to have the car inspected. I started to do this a few cars back and now I wouldn't consider buying a car without it. I bought a Cayman S and had the inspection done. I then found out that the car had its front fender painted. Looked perfect and had a perfect carfax but when they used a laser they could tell. Ended up canceling the deal

The 03's and 04's have window issues and tire alignment issues. I would recommend checking those because mine had both of those.

03 was the first year for the 350Z and Nissan was still ironing out kinks even with the 04. If I was going to buy a used 350Z I wouldn't go any older than a 2005

Would be better if you could get a 2004.5 or higher, (less drama, those Z's had the irritating problems eliminated)__________________________________

*cough* RevUp *cough*

Though I (knock on wood) haven't had any problems myself, it's still a problem that bears mentioning.

depending on who owned it prior it could be a number of things.

clutches could aways be fixed. I would worry about the integrity of the trans more or less be worried about the clutch

another used trans trans 800+

clutch 300+

another thing my 04 had was a throw out bearing issue.

drive it for like 30 mins then let it idle and get out and listen for a slight tapping metal noise under the car

good luck

what are they asking for it ?
