I am looking at 2006 M35 sport. I have read some things saying that the 25mpg highway is very unrealistic. I had a q45 which got about 14. Also wondering how the cars are in winter. Are snow tires a necessity, or can you get by with all season. I like Michelin Pilot A/S. Thanks for any input

I have the same car and get 23mpg at 75mph when cruising to and from work each day. Lowest I get is 20.9 at 80mph.

Around town it doesn't show lower than 18mpg which is good although the average mpg I get all round it 20 which includes both city and highway.

If you live in the snow belt, then snow tires for that car are mandatory. If you live in the snow belt, a M35X would also be a better idea and even that car could use snow tires or a good all-weather tire like the Nokian WRs.

BTW - With my M35X, I average about 24 highways and 18 city/freeway driving.

I have a 2006 M35x and I am very disappointed with the gas mileage. The in town/ interstate combination I average is slightly better than 18 mpg. If I get on the interstate and drive a couple of hundred miles at 75 mph, I get about 22.5-23.0 mpg. Nothing to write home about.

I park my M35 Sport in the winter and drive a beater (old Volvo). Even with snows, I can't see it climbing hills very well. Real world mileage for me is 19mpg in mixed driving. It's not much of a winter car and it sure ain't no economy car. It's a fansastic drivers car though with lots of room for friends and family, all the latest technology and a world class v6.
