Gentlemen:

I want to join your club. I have two S14's, and feel it's time to branch out and get a sweet late-model vert to add to the collection.

I build cars, so it can be basically a hunk of junk. The requirements are DOHC (not sure if any verts every came with SOHC), convertible frame in excellent condition (even though the top might be fubbared), relatively straight body panels with no wrecks and no rust, and at least a decent dash/door/center console (seats and carpet can be a mess). Kinda lookin' for the car with 178,000 miles, that needs a head gasket, with straight body panels and decent interior panels. Oh yeah, CLEAN title.

I am looking for a deal, and would prefer one that hasn't been pimped out with a Megan exhaust and neon pink spark plug wires. Basically, some old couples car they bought new in 1993... Also, like it to be within 600 miles of 30041. Willing to go out to $3,000 for the right car. Can you guys keep an eye out?

Thanks,

Scott

Verts only have a DOHC so no worries there. Keep your eyes peeled on ebay. The majority of verts for sale that I see are usually on there. From time to time you will find one with low mileage (80-90k). The average for verts are usually in the 100-130k range...usually they aren't past the 160 mark. As you may have probably noticed, 240sx sale prices have gone up due to demand. Well in the past few months, so have verts.

But you should find one eventually...so with that being said...

Good luck on your quest to find a vert. I'll be on the lookout for you.

ebay is a good place to look for verts. i've been seeing a lot of them in florida for sale lately. also, there have been a lot of them on autotrader. most verts i've seen have either been immaculate or really junky. your definition of a "hunk of junk" is way off. in your eyes, 90% of verts are a "hunk of junk" you've got to remember that these cars are pretty old.

fortunately for you, you're down south so you shouldn't have to worry about rust too much. best of luck with your search. i'm going to renew my search in the spring. i need a new vert, too.

Scott, I may have the exact car you're looking for.

Wasn't planning to sell, but knowing it'd be going to "a legend", I might be persuaded.

Note: Not my black one. I have a red one... Email me for details, maybe we can come up with something.

Dude, I just checked out your Zoints profile looking for your e-mail address...d'oh, imagine that, it's [email protected]. I had to stop for a moment and respond when I found we're the same age, and both queensrychers!! Long live the Queen of the Ryche!

E-mail coming soon.

Gentlemen:

Bought a VERT today! It's a red '93!! I am now part of the club. I've got BIG plans for this car...need to go find some mega deep-pocket sponsor to make it a 450 whp KA-T weekend machine. It's gonna take several months, but I promise I'll do you guys proud.

First thing is a full stainless 3" BRM exhaust. (hint)

If I could move this car: zerothread/213255 I'd be on the vert immediately. Anyone know of someone looking for a MINT Kouki show car with 420 whp?

So someone explain to me the door panel/seat belt mod. I am an S14 guy, and this is new territory for me. And as soon as pics are up, you'll see why I need to get these door panels off...the dumbass former owner appears to have used self-tapping black anodized screws to attach the fabric insert to the door panel.

Scott.. feel free to email them to me eikond(at)gmail.com I'll host them up for you on my iserve account.

Regarding your door pillar and door panel inserts question.. The doors for the vert are strong structurally to improve side impact resistance in collisions.. but they were extremely poorly made and assembled. I've seen very few 'verts door panels that aren't coming apart or already fixed in some really tacky fashion.

A popular mod among the 'vert club is to modify the 'vert door to return it to the coupe/fastback dimensions. This involves cutting out some of the bracing.. especially the pillar for the seat belt. The benefit to this mod is that you can now easily attach standard coupe/fastback door panels which are significantly better made and stay in one piece. Also, removing the pillar gives the 'vert better lines (depending on your personal opinion of course).

I plan to simply swap doors myself. I've got a set of black coupe doors that I will be installing in place of the 'vert doors. This way should I ever look to sell the car, I can simply swap the doors back on should the next owner desire that..

Anyhow... give Greg's thread a good read.. He's got fantastic how to info and pictures to boot.

Any other questions.. fire away.. we'll do our best to answer.

The only thing I've done to the car is wheels and an intake but I have the stock intake for it. I've also upgraded all the radio items ie. speakers, cd, subs, amp. it has a new radiator, water pump, hoses, belts, brake pads, plugs, and the rear window is brand new. I have recipets for this stuff. All the power stuff works, dohc ka24de engine but it has a small head gasket leak. It's minor so i'm still driving it around. the front fenders are messed up but if you really want me to i can get you new ones that a brad new. The car runs great (except for the small head leak) and I don't want to part with it but i'm looking for a truck. I also have another ka24de motor you can have if you would like. I'm just too busy to swap engines. let me know if your intrested. thanks wyatt [email protected] or [email protected] (919) 667-3333

Put this on carolinanissans.com, should sell with little problems given a decent price.
