I wanted to know if this is a good deal. IM looking to buy a 90 300zx t-top 2 seater non turbo 115k on the body and 4k on the rebuilt motor, for $5000. It has a new clutch and brakes. My friend had the car before but the water pump stopped working and blew the motor. So he brought it to the shop and it cost to much to fix so he gave it to the shop. The guy said he had the engine rebuilt and still has a warrenty on it for 2 1/2 more years which includes labor and what not. Let me know is this is a good buy. Ill attach a pic.

when valuing a car the chassis milage is still important and if there si a warranty I'd be sure to see the limitations of it, personally I don't think a N/A 90 model is worth that much, ultimately you have to work how long to make $5K? is it worth that much of your labor?

Recently I have seen NA's sell for anywhere from 2800 - 11500 local to me. Really the overall condition of the car, availability in your area, how bad you want the car, etc dictate the value.

In my opinion, if its a clean car with a fresh motor its worth $5,000 if everything is up to date maintence wise. Z32's, even the nonturbo ones, are great cars.

if you want a manual I suggest you hold out for a 5 speed, they aren't that rare that you have to snap up an auto just to spend another grand and downtime swapping the trans to make the car you really wanted

yea go manual if you ever want manual. The swap out is a pain.

The car sounds like it could go for 5k if its all up to date and redone, but just the fact she is auto.... ehhhh really gotta thing about the crap you are gonna get for that from other ppl lol

Also there is the problem, of TT vs NA which you may not care about now, but if you want a street racing car at all (don't kid yourself now if your serious for speed) wait, n buy a Twin. You can do whatever you want of course, but a twin turbo Z 5spd demands a lot more respect than a auto N/A. Plus u have ppl asking you if it is TT all the time, to which u will have to roll your eyes and avoid that question

However if you don't care (which you should if ur buyin a Z over a 240 to upgrade) go ahead and do whatever. Don't rush into a Z you will have to change a ton later to be happy with

I had a 91 NA it was in excellent condition but I had to part with it due to very expensive repair bills. Unless you have lots of cash or are extremely mechanically inclined I would advise thinking twice!!

ahhh I see, thanks for the correction Cbrand

on the issue of repairs, any Z's repair bill is a labor of love.... it kinda has to be cause I agree, it can be staggering at times
