Remove the driver sider underdash bit. There will be 2 bolts underneath where your steering wheel attaches to the steering column that effectively hold the column up. Undo those two and 2 more just like them further down into the foot well if you want/need to. Pull the colum down until you have enough room to remove the black plastic trim thing that houses all the video game style buttons our cars are blessed with. It's pretty self-explanatory from there. The gauges cluster will have two harness plugs once you disconnect it from the black trim piece and that should be pretty much it and then reassemble.

i swapped my analog back to digital the other week, 1 hour. but ive taken apart my cluster like 20 times before so it went by pretty quick

what are you going to do with the digital ? want to send it to me in attempt to fix it lol ?

oh yeah, the inner harnesses is going to be a PITA IIRC. i cut off the ziptie. the harness release things are a biatch also, isliced my knuckles with a screwdriver pushing the button thing down

If you want to pay for shipping i don't have a problem with it. i just wanna hang on to it for a couple days to make sure everything is ok with the new one

not to steal a post or anything ,but you guys seem to know decent amount of info about digital/analog clusters.

On mine backlight goes on and off, while driving, i tap on the dash hard and it someitmes comes back on.

Also, when its really cold, it also doesn't work.

I can take it off i believe without taking the whole dashboard out.

anyone knows how to fix that??

Are you saying the brightness dimmer dial control does not work on a older car? I have pulled and repaired Nissan & Honda dash dimmer controls out and it is always wear of the wipers. Repairable, but easier to junkyard the part for 10 to$20. Unhook the battery first.
