Got it for $32.99 at the local u-pull-it junkyard. Came off a '97 J30 automatic with 64,000 miles (build date was 11/96) It was supposed to be $52.99 but the guy rang it up as a center section for $32.99 and charged me $14 for the part of the driveshaft. Although I will be returning that as soon as I get those friggen nuts off (didn't have a wrench to fit on it at the junkyard). So... good find for me!

VLSD I assume?

Even if it's an open diff... that's a pretty sweet price!

3.916... It's a negliglible difference. And no, the CA goes in at the end of the month once I get my refund anticipation loan

What tire size do you use? Good call on vlsd better than open diff, especially in a constant wet condition

Well, I plan on going to set of 16x7 16x8 volk gram light 57pros if I can find them for under $1400 for a set... Everyone seems to prefer the 17s or 18s, but I'd rather have the smaller wheels and beefier tires. I am thinking a 245-255 tire in the rear....

As for acceleration, yeah, it slows it down a bit, but again, I don't think it will make much of a difference.

Good find at a great price. Longer gears in a turbo car is ok too. I have the same diff in my 240 right now.

You can get a slightly smaller tire diameter, and your acceleration/speedometer will not be affected.

Oh yeah.. you'll need to get a bushing for that mounting hole. SPL parts has some solid ones, and it's probably cheaper than getting it from a dealer.
