A month ago a deep knocking noise started, accompanied by a clanking noise inside the engine block. Yesterday I finally got around to yanking the engine and looking inside. Here's what I found:
It looked like part of the front main bearing. That would explain the wobbling underdrive pulley too. The rest of the round piece was found chewed up at the bottom of the oil pan. My cylinder walls were scored, along with parts of the crankshaft..so it looks like im in the market for either a new bottom end or some type of engine swap
Just thought I'd share. Btw..does anyone know what's required to use the ka24e AC compressor on a ka24de? Thanks
