Look at that colibri keyfob, as it's called...

I'm assuming it's a lighter? Pretty nice, nontheless.

Looks way to small to be a lighter, still a very cool little goodie box!

Looks like a keyring fob.

Tell him to pull his locksets and he could net another $100 at least.

What do you mean "fob"

Since 90s didnt have keyless entry, what the hell is it?

Colibri makes lighters, and that's about it...

Brings back memories... I remeber these. I used the key case to store change at my desk for a while. The key "FOB" was just onamental. Not sure what FOB means, but the name was out there before there were OEM remote entry systems.

From http://www.merriamwebster.com

Main Entry: fobFunction: nounEtymology: perhaps akin to German dialect Fuppe pocket1 : WATCH POCKET2 : a short strap, ribbon, or chain attached especially to a pocket watch3 : an ornament attached to a fob chain

It's a decorative keychain fob. Nothing more.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

I asked him about this. The car was his mother-in-law's, and is long gone to the boneyard.

I would just get it, for all the other cool stuff, if I had a 1990 Q.

On my 1991 Q45, both master keys were titanium. The valet keys were not. I think I have the key case lying around somewhere!

Are the master keys stainless steel, pewter, titanium or what?

Believe it or not, but I have all of the above plus the Infiniti pen that slips into the case. Unfortunately the original keys wear like a cheap pair of shoes. I made copies of all the originals when they started to fade. That 2 pound key fob will spell the end of your ignition switch.

I should have been clearer in my post. The "grip" portion (where you hold it to insert) of all the masters was titanium, but the "key" section (where it goes into the slot and has the reversed notches) was the usual key material (whatever that is!).

Nope. Just a decorative piece of metal with the Infiniti logo on it, attached to a key ring. I have one in my desk drawer from one of my earlier Infinitis. Never used it. Also have an oval shaped one, with key rings at each end. One of the rings can be easily removed. Brushed stainless steel with the Infiniti logo inlayed in gold. Nicer than the the Colibri version, in my opinion. Never used it either. Not sure which model Infinitis either one came from.

I've got a leather key wallet that came with my '94 Q. It still has both of the valet keys, the dealer's inventory key tag on one of the keys, and the salesman's business card in it. Brand new, never used. Seems that I remember way back when, I think it was after I bought my '91 G20, Infiniti sent me a leather key wallet in the mail. They said that they had been getting negative customer feedback regarding the driver's keys banging up against the hard plastic cover of the steering column. They said that their engineers were working on a more permanent fix for future models, but hoped that the leather wallet would alleviate the problem in the meantime. Never used it, but it was a thoughtful gesture.

Yeah, it's nice. I use mine to store all the keys that aren't actively in use...it's better than carrying around a lot of keys on a ring in your pocket.
