Woo, Last week, I gave some thought into how Im gonna blow my cash in my bank account. So, I bought me some suspension parts and they're comming in! Ebay Strut bars, and these babies Tokico HPs baby!Friend was over, so we did the only thing we could since my Tein S-techs weren't in yet. (Tomorrow they come in though :) ) STRUT FIGHT!!

As that picture shows, I clearly won that fight. :DIt's gonna be a fun day tomorrow if I have the time to install those struts and springs.

Ok, I'm done now.

ROFL! So when you order new struts again *next* week maybe you'll remember not to have any "strut fights", which often lead to nicked strut rods and dead struts.

You *did* order new rubber for the strut assemblies, including dust covers, right?

Don't forget to mark the orientation of the top hats/lower bolt before you disassemble everything.

Haha, We didnt have a fight, just took some pics like that cause we were bored. I don't have to have dust boots, but it would help with the longevity of the struts. The tokicos already came with some rubber pieces, not sure on where they go exactly, but we'll know when we start changing out the suspension

I don't mean to crap on anyone's parade. I did assume the pic was staged, but a reminder that the surfaces are delicate isn't a bad thing. At worst I'm preaching to the choir. I won't back down on my *opinion* that new rubber and dust boots are worth the investment. I think that if you spend $xx on a strut, it makes sense to spend $20 on a dust boot to protect it, unless, of course, the old ones are fine. New rubber will soften up the system while the struts break in. Take it only as my opinion and advice--it isn't too late to get them, even if it means delaying the installation by a week or two. Not too big a deal either way.

Technically, yes I did get them from a sponsor, Option Imports. But, I did buy them off ebay. When I paypaled them, I told them thanks for being a NICO sponsor. The main reason I like HP's is the price for what you get. They're probably the best non-adjustable strut for an s13 out there for the price.I paid 308 shipped. Box came very well packaged. Wish I could say the same for my 15 dollar ebay strut bars. Damn ripped boxes.

Is there any difference between the HP's and the KYB GR-2? I saw a set of HP's for S14 going for $300 /free shipping and a set of GR-2's for S14 going for $240 w/ $35 shipping. I was wondering which would work best for Tein S.Techs.

Sorry for the thread jack.

I chose the HPs, because their quality is better than the gr-2. HP also stands for High Performance, so I'm sure they offer more damping than the GR-2. Don't get me wrong, I like KYB, but they don't make turquoise colored struts now do they? :pface As a matter of fact, my Tein S-techs just came in the mail. I know a guy with the same setup I have and he drifts like crazy.
