General Motors and Chevrolet have just released all their official numbers for the 2009 Corvette ZR1 and... hold on to your butts... its base MSRP (including destination charges) will be $103,300. Add to that a $1,700 Gas guzzler tax, $2,000 for chrome wheels and another $10,000 for the only Option package available that adds upgraded seats, side air bags, Bose audio, a nav system, Bluetooth, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel and leather-wrapped interior, and you're looking at a grand total of $117,000. We believe that may make the Corvette ZR1 the most expensive product ever offered by GM, but consider what you get. The ZR1 is a 638-hp supercar that can reach 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, run the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds at 131 mph (!) and top out at 205 mph, all while returning 14 mpg city and 20 mpg highway.

And some new magnetic suspension stuff.

"Magnetic Selective Ride Control is standard and tuned specifically for the ZR1. The system's ability to deliver a compliant ride with nearly instantaneous damping adjustments enabled engineers to develop a surprisingly supple ride quality in a supercar that still delivers cornering grip of more than 1g.

From a high-performance perspective, Magnetic Selective Ride Control helps the rear axle remain planted during launch for smooth, hop-free acceleration. It also helps suppress axle movement when cornering on broken or uneven pavement. "

Also has carbon fiber. I think some is exposed. Now with the exposed carbon fiber they have a special clear coat on it that cost a ridiculous amount of money.

Actually it isent the z06 motor. It's a 6.2 so they can add the boost saftly.

I'm saying it's worth 100g. But it would be a fun ride.

Its $100,000 because Wagoner was so impressed with the price of the Corvette, he asked what they could do for $100,000. You also get huge carbon-ceramic brakes. Here are some pics from the Auto Show this year.

Exposed CF

A bad view of the interior. Notice the CF in the center console area.

I love Corvette. But ZR-1 and Z06 is too expensive. C6 is good enough for me.

I beleive this car maybe at par with the Nissan GT-R, but i doubt it will be at par with the Nissan GT-R Spec-V, which is lighter than the GT-R, and has more power.

Agreed, the Spec-V will be much better bang for your buck.

I would never spend $50,000 let alone $100,000 on a Chevy product.

I would take this over a GTR any day, while performance is important, a sports car should also look beautiful and we'll the corvette looks much better than the GTR in my opinion.

first of all you are all on acid if you think you can get either one of those cars for sticker. zr1s are going for 200-400k at dealers. and i bet gtrs (once the law suit is settled) go for at least double if not triple the sticker.

The new Vettes are outstanding performance for the dollar. However, in terms of styling...not so much.I'd take a 60's Stingray, preferably a '67 427, over a new Vette any day of the week.I'd also take the GTR over the Vette too.

You'd probably have a better chance at purchasing one of these:http://www.bofunk.com/video/1359/rocket_car.htmlBest part of that video: watch how the video crew keeps stepping back farther and farther as that thing warms up! Classic
