Fortunetly my body only requires about 3 or so hours of sleep at night, so I I was good to go at 6am (since they called off school I have to show up early & open everything & clear off the walkways for no one to show up!).SixGuns wrote:If you got work tomorrow, why the sh*t are you on forums at 11:30 at night? What do you consider "south", cause a lot of people in Canada thinkn NY & OH are south, but they really aren't.Buzzman wrote:As soon as I'm completely retired, and rich, I'm heading south. No more snow, thank you very much.
Crap! I forgot to feed the dogs.SixGuns wrote:If you got work tomorrow, why the sh*t are you on forums at 11:30 at night? I mean..I don't have a job. I don't have to wake up in the morning, except to feed the dogs...lol What's your excuse?
Georgia, and further south, minimum. Have relatives in Atlanta, and really like that city.My preference is at least Florida, but anywhere in the Caribbean would suit me just fine too.Just spent a week in Cancun by the way, and that was pretty nice too.One of my favourite places is the island of St. Maarten. Beautiful spot.Would love to go back.Still trying to win the lottery in the meantime.fukinitupagain wrote:What do you consider "south", cause a lot of people in Canada think NY & OH are south, but they really aren't.
Some areas around Atlanta are nice but the city itself is a mess...and probably will be for years to come....so much construction all over the place. Florida is nice (I grew up there) so long as you're not in Miami or Orlando....if I were to retire in a "city" it would be St. Petersburg (Tampa)..personally, I like the smaller towns (grew up around Ocala - horse farm country)Buzzman wrote:

I want to do the oppostite, I am wanting to move to like Montana, North/South Dakota, somewhere that has a ton of land, very few people & even fewer laws... I'm tired of big cities & people, give me open air & no one!Buzzman wrote:

Yea, Atlanta is indeed a mess. My brother-in-law actually lives in Roswell, which is far enough out to make it desirable..As for Florida, I prefer the panhandle. Some relatives of mine have a condo in Destin. I like it there. The last time I was in Orlando (2 years ago), I told my wife it would be the last time we go there for a while. Too busy. Didn't enjoy it much.Been to St. Petersburg and thought it was nice. Haven't been to Miami, and have no desire to do so.We also like Virginia Beach a lot, but it's not warm enough in January, and it's absolutely crazy there in July-August. April-May is a pretty nice time to be there. All in all, we like to travel a lot, and enjoy seeing new places. We've been very fortunate to be able to travel as much as we do.Ask me about some places in Europe some time. Also, we are currently planning to go to Australia in September.Looking forward to that.SixGuns wrote:Some areas around Atlanta are nice but the city itself is a mess...and probably will be for years to come....so much construction all over the place.
