Hello guyz! I recently got 180sx off from 240tranee with CA18DET... obviously... :) here it starts.I got the car from Ben, and this motor was originally built by Dee (boost_boy). and Ben told me b4 i buy this that turbo is blown, powersteering rack broken so no PS, this and that. So he was a really nice guy that telling me the truth. I loved this car, and i think i still love it. But I am running problems + questions because i dont know anything about this car. First of all, i put the new T25 turbo on, off form my brother's 240sx (SR20DET). I eleminate the smokes BUT I still see it. also, coolant is leaking from heatercore (I think...) . and after i put new turbo on, oil line links sometimes. but this stupid DIP STICK, cant tell anything. IS THIS DIP STICK FROM FACTORY? BECASUE ITS A WIRE LOOKING THING, NOT LIKE KA OR SR... and I know Dee built the car good but, I THINK MY RINGS ARE BAD OR NOT IN GOOD POSITION OR SOMETHING. this is only thing that i can think of, or luckly, i overfilled the motor oil becasue of dip stick. I need some help.. what should i check first..... :( ... other than that, this is a great car and i love it....so here are the problems that im facing.1. Motor eats oil for somehow...2. Coolant is leaking.... im positive that its from heatercore, but any suggestion to check?3. I think my car is running too rich, so that its missfireing... or just bad injectors.4. it smokes bad..... but not that bad like blown turbo.5. which powersteering rack should i get ?? 240sx?? sentra??6. IS MY DIP STICK NOT FACTORY? SHOULD I GET ANOTHER ONE?.....seems lots of problems, but its not that bad.. OHHHH and in US, which car come stock as CA18DE or CA16DE...???????And which motor mount should i use!??!?!?! and transmission mouts!!I need :help .... PLEASE GUYS.... here is my aim: aznevoviiiplease aim me anytime you want. and I want to talk to Dee about motor but anyway to reach him!?

Thank you for your time.

I belive that the 88 pulsar came with the ca18de. Also many parts from the 84-86 200sx turbo are swapable. Not sure about the ca16de....but it may have been the earlier pulsars.

nice.... i got some good answers.. The passenger floor is not wet, so i guess.... its not heater core!? hmmmm yeah.. my car is 1992 nissan 240sx. I think most of the fuel system is original from CA18det.. is it good to swap fuel pump to 255 walbro!? because i have one from my brother's car. and yes its Rack and pinion. Sorry im going backwards from your answers, but thanks for your help. and yopu can always aim me if you wnat :)

thanks

well if u r running rich right now, upgrade FP is the last thing u want until u get that sort out, or u will only make ur problem worse. if ur passenger floor is not wet, then it less likely 2b from the core, that is the most common symtoms. so look else where ( don't count on all my words, best to double check, I'm only human). Good luck with it, u need help IM me or jut post here I'll try to help as best as i could. C

yeah, i for one would like to express my complete and utter hatred for the stock ca dipstick. its impossible to read and im never completely sure that my car really has oil in it. rawr. snarl. hiss.

by the way, hows the car running C? havnt seen you in a while. im at school in Auburn right now but when i get my car running ill be sure to come by and show you. (having to go home to work on it every weekend. i estimate 3 weeks max. depending on parts availability)

Quote »please aim me anytime you want. and I want to talk to Dee about motor but anyway to reach him!?[/quote] I can be reached at anytime: New piston rings, new rod bearings, new water pump, new timing belt, new headgasket, new headbolts, new camshaft seals. The problem with a blown turbo is it will throw oil into the exhaust system and it just don't burn off that simple. Check your plugs! If they aren't wet with oil, you don't have a problem with your bottom end. The head itself was in excellent condition before it left Miami. Run a compression teest which should pan out to be normal. New rings need to be seated "Point Blank" .

Yeah, Dee. Well the motor itself has now about 1k miles, so in my opinion, the rings should be in its place already. I was woundering that Ben told me that someone put the heagasket in backward, so he had to put it in the right way, i guess that he did not torque it down to wat it suppose to be... and I did compression test, it was 145~150 range. and again, with my stupidity, i did not give any gas while i was running this, so i guess it read low b/c of that. But it was steady, so it shouldnt be a problem. I was thinking if the rings were installed wrong way, but Dee, you are notorious on CA18DET so i hope its not the case. If its just headgasket, it shouldnt be a problem again. Then here is today's question. 1. Which Headgasket should i use (good aftermarket ones), and where should i get it from. 2. Which torque i should give it to bolts?3. Dee, if you know by any chance.. wat kinda fuel pump was this car running, and should i put Walbro 255 in it... since one just rolling around in back seats of my brother's 240sx.

Thank you for your times guys
