You've been working since you were 11? In the foodservice industry? As what?R350Zz33 wrote:i have a job to ive been in the food business about 6 years now and im sorry but i would never degrade my self and work at mcdonalds for minimum wage. i worked hard to get where i am now and i am also have a nys food manager certificate so i am over qualified to work at a mcdonalds or burger king.
You do what you need to survive. If you won't "degrade" yourself when you need to, because you will need to at some point in your life, you'll end up homeless. Personally I would be proud to work at McDonalds if it meant me not being homeless. And, maybe the man likes his job? Whos to say he isn't a big shot manager? Have you read the managerial benefits of a McDonalds? Company car, stock options, 401k and they make damn good money, if I remember correctly it was close to 60k a year. That's not so degrading to me.R350Zz33 wrote:i have a job to ive been in the food business about 6 years now and im sorry but i would never degrade my self and work at mcdonalds for minimum wage. i worked hard to get where i am now and i am also have a nys food manager certificate so i am over qualified to work at a mcdonalds or burger king.
The one that you've been doing since you were 11?R350Zz33 wrote:u don't get a company car my neighbor is the district manager of 16 mcdonalds on long island he dosen't have a company car he has also offered me a job unloading delivery trucks pays $100 a truck. he will call me be for a truck is coming give me the location of the mcdonalds and then i go there and unload the truck its like 2 hours at each mcdonalds. but its hard cause it conflicts with my main job.
I own a restaurant. I have hired some friends and even some relatives. Not coming to work for more than 3 days without notice, regardless of their affiliation with me or my family, are grounds for termination or "involuntary resignation". You may not have been officially "fired" ,per say, by the owner but you've definitely been removed from the payroll, therefore, terminated. Only an irresponsible person would just to walk away without any formal resignation from an establishment that gave the opportunity to start work. I don't care if you personally know the owner, the decent thing to do is to let him/her know that you no longer intend to work for them.R350Zz33 wrote:I worked at carvel for a year and a half a local restaurant for 2 years and now a catering hall i've been at for 2 years now. i knew the owner of the carvel and my sister worked there thats how i started so young. i still officially work at carvel i never quit and never got fired i should just walk in one day in uniform.
1) You didn't get fired (like you said). 2) You didn't quit (like you said). You walked away from your job.R350Zz33 wrote:and what did i do?
