Hey guys,

i recently pulled my plugs to see what my car is doing, and it looked like this

Can you guys tell me why the tips are white and the surrounding area is black? These plugs are new NGK BRK7ES and i put about 30 miles on it before taking it out. Also i didn't touch the gap when it came out off the box. Should i gap it small or larger? I've have cold starting and full throttle boost problems, and i read that sparkplug gap could be an issue does this look like its causing it?

Your plugs are fine. Might as well take a wire brush and clean them off now that they are out, extend the life of the plugs.

The one at the bottom of the picture seems as if it is either running rich or the cylinder isnt getting good spark. It however is fine, and could just be cleaned up and put back in the engine.

Yeah deffenitly, you might have a leaky injector where that rich plug is.
