Ok, so to understand this, you first have to understand the situation I live in. A year and a half ago, I started having good luck for the first time in my life. I had quit my job because it was a 2 hr commute ea. way and it was killing me to be going to school full time at the same time. I decided I needed a job closer to school (and home at the time), so I opened up the Yellow Pages. I called the first architect in there, and got a job :pface (good luck begins) 6 months later, as school was getting out and I was talking about finding a place to live outside of the dorms, my boss offers to let me live in the studio above the office. This is all in a building behind his house.

So, on to now. I've been working for this guy for a year and a half and living here for a year. It's been awesome, no one finds a deal like this. I have a sweet studio appt to myself and I pay super cheap rent, and I get to be up in the hills a little, rather than down in town in some ****ty appt complex (I grew up in the mountains, I have a hard time with living in a city... they suck). My mom and my little sis came down last weekend to visit and look for an appt for my sister and we had a great time. All I could talk to my mom about was how great everything was going for me finally, and how much I was enjoying life. Then, on Monday, after my mom got on a plane to go back home, my internet ceases to work for no apparent reason. That sucks, but hardly something to stress about. Then, the next day my ex came up and we went out to dinner. Apparently though, before we left I left one of the gates to my bosses yard open. Right after we went to dinner, their dog got out and got hit by a car. When I got home from dinner, my boss came up and asked to speak to me for a moment and we went outside since my sister and ex gf were there. He told me about the dog getting hit, and told me he wanted my out of the appt by the end of the week (Oh ****). So, there we had it, I lost my job and my place to live in one foul swoop. I wasn't really sure about how things would work out though, I was hoping for the best and maybe after giving him a little time, he would cool down a little bit and reconsider. Finally, on Sat., I came down and talked to him. I told him that I considered myself very fortunate for having been able to work and live here, and that I didn't want to give it up. After asking if there was any way we could work things out in a better way, he told me there was no room for a second chance and that either the dog had to go, or I did... and I lost. He said he couldn't trust me inside the gates of his yard anymore, and said he was going to lock all the gates except one to prevent this from ever happening again. This was very bad news for me, but life goes on. I knew I would be able to get a new job and finding a place it just a matter of looking and coming up with the money. I was just bummed that all these good things had to come to an end because I didn't swing the gate closed hard enough, and it had swung back open.

Welcome to Sunday morning. I'm bummed and bored out of my mind after being out of work all week. As I'm sitting there in my boxers playing Unreal Tournament 2004, my boss comes up and knocks on my door  He says that he spent an hour on the phone with his brother and while playing psyco analyst, had convinced him that he was suffering from some post tramatic stress stuff. He says to give him a few days to work things out (Yay!). Then he asks if I would like to work (Super Yay!). I jumped at the opportunity and spent my Sunday working, which didn't bother me since I had had almost a full weeks "vacation" at that point. Then today, I come down to find that he put bungee cords on the gates, so I figure he doesn't want me to go in. But around noon I decided to call him and he said he had left me work to do and to go inside and get to it.

So, there it is. The longest week ever. Oh yeah, I still don't have internet, but at least I have a job and a place to live for the time being:D

yup... I would be pissed if someone left the gate open and my dog got hit too...

He's my Baby! so I can understand what your boss must be going through.

My sister was visiting this weekend and my bro-in-law left the frnt door open and came into my room where me, my dog and his kids were hangin out and my dog got out of the house.

Good thing he doesn't like run out to the streets and good thing I live in a community with no way out but one street so nothing happened but I was still pissed at him...

God forbit if a car had hit him, I would have never forgotten that.

but I got over it since nothign happened and my dog came running to me once I called out for him..

He's a very cool guy, and I'm really fortunate to have had this job and appt. One thing I forgot to mention, is the dog didn't die, she has a fractured leg that's in a cast and held together with plates and screws for the next 3 months. I felt horrible though. They got the dog like a week before I started working for him, and I've become very attached. Seriously, the sweetest dog I've ever met.

Oh.. at least the dog is still alive.

So far I've been the creator of two road kill specimens.

The first was a rabbit that decided to make a sprint from the grass across the road just as I approached.

And the other was somewhat recent. I smacked a cat as it tried to sprint across the road.

That was an off-topic, but somewhat pertinent post.

Congrats on getting your life back on track. :)

Well I havent hit anything but a deer hit my car while my dad was driving it. The b1tch ran right into the side of the car. scared the **** out of us:eek:. It was a youngin and its mother had just crossed the road in front of us. It just scrambled to its hooves and ran off. Can you imagine a deer hittin you? LOL!

Oh and good luck with your job/appt.

lol 1der, ive killed countless opossums that way.. and for some reason i never learn that theyre taller than my front lip.. the worst is when you drag them for a short distance, it makes you feel like you sqaushed them with your bare feet. and then comes the laughter, god save me, the laughter.
