Well, I finally cracked off my old driver side front rotor.

The thing was so rusted on the hub that It came off in three pieces... Ill have pics later.

But onto my problem. I put on the rotor, caliper bracket, pads, and now the caliper wont fit onto the caliper bracket. The bottom pin will not slide in to allow the caliper on.

On the bracket the top slide actually slides in and out, which allows the caliper on, however the bottom seems is fixed and I cannot get the caliper on for the life of me.

Anybody who did brakes on the J? Am I skipping something? I had a couple too many beers...

i did notice while doing my rotors around, that the calipers in the front were some crazy design that wanted to be diffiult, however if you can adjust them by loosening a screw ( u may have to bleed the brakes afterwards) they slide right on... same for the back

It ended up that the caliper slider are both supposed to slide.

The bottor slides on both side were so rusted that they would not budge.

Pb blaster, a couple of minutes and my vice solved that problem. The brakes are on and working great.

Yes sorry, thats what I immediately thought, but the fluid level is good.

Then I thought it might be the parking break shoes, since the new "rotors/drums" have more metal on them, but I checked the parking brake and it works fine.

Im thinking brake switch now??
