ok how long will a high performance clutch last on a stock ka24e vs a stock clutch. when I say high performance i'm think a stage 5 6 puck clutch. is that even streetable. I don't see why it wouldn't be on a stock car.

why would you need a clutch like that for a ka24e? waste of money imo. also high performance clutches aren't really ment to last long. It's either high performance or long life.

well for one I wouldn't need to upgrade to a better clutch at all. if you look at clutchmasters their stage 5, 4 or 6 puck is 247. Thats their same price for the stage 1 which I have now. Their stages 2, 3, and 4 are more expensive.$388. I'm still not sure witch one will last longer though.

well think about it this way. They are more becouse they last longer meaning you have to buy them less often. And they are cheaper becouse you have to replace them more often. If your not doing any crazy power mods and just daily driving the care oem is always best.

thats far from true, well at least the part about oem being the best. I could wear out an oem pretty quick If I had to. I'd trust a higher spec clutch any day of the week. But I'm more of an agressive driver.(i'm not too hard on the car though) But remember a stage 5 clutch is meant to handle the wear and tear of a high power motor. So you need all that extra grab force. so without all that power why wouldn't it last longer?

ps: i gotta add that between a short shifter and a stage "anything" clutch. those are by far some of the best mods you can do to a car.

the reason those clutches wear out quick is the way they need to be engaged. When you get to these strip only clutches they turn into a switch on or off. So in order to drive one normally on the street you have to ride the piss out of it just to get rolling. Also a short shifter puts your sycros in a world of hurt. High performance and long lasting in most cases dont go together.

ok I think I see what your saying about the clutches maybe a stage 5 would be a tad bit overkill. Guess i'm still on the hunt for the perfect clutch for me then. But even though you say a short shifter hurts your syncros its still worth it. In my eyes cars are made to be driven. I don't mind paying the price. I also have a primered car with the ac system completely removed and a 3 inch exhaust. so whats a little wear and tear to me.

ClutchMasters Stage 2 Kevlar for KA24E

Clutchmasters is the only manufacturer that offers a standard and long lasting version of the same clutch that I've seen.
