May I ask, what is the advantage of the longer tubing?

Thanks,

JV.

There is a car around AL that someone did that on. I believe it is owned by the owner of SPEC clutches.

I think I can get a few more pics if anyone wants but didn't want to flood the thread with pics too bad.

Greater evacuation of the cylinder... works on the same principle as header modifications on an n/a engine.

Creates more lag though.

more lag mmmm but would this creat more of a flow through the header to run a larger turbo.. so uping the redline would be really helpfull on something like this

It will spool the turbo slower for the same reason that it creates more power.

A shorter manifold has less volume, ergo it takes less time to pressurize the manifold which is what creates deltaP within the system. Once you have achieved pressurization of the exhaust manifold you speed up the flow over the turbine blades, and increase the mass flow. The problem is... once you have spooled the turbocharger the manifold can become a restriction of sorts due to the short runner design not scavenging the cylinders as effectively as it could with longer runners.

BTW, you should opt for a Civic Koyo radiator. Cut down on about 1-2 gallons of water and that'd save you 5-10 lbs.

so basically you give up some spool time for more top end power?

Yup... in drag racing spool really doesn't matter. You can just run a bunch of nitrous / anti-lag and you're good to go.

i dont see how the lag would even be noticable, i tihnk it would be the same as on a manifold that closer to the head. it still has to go to the intercooler, this is just lengthining the manifold, and shortning the hot pipe i tihnk.

i actually have no clue, have no calculations or expirience, i just think this would make sense....
